I recently bought the Wimberley WH-200 gimbal head and several mounting plates to fit my various lens. I had conflicts between my Canon 7D (with battery pack) and the 45 degree joint between the horizontal and vertical beams of the head. I was able to resolve this problem with conversations with Wimberley (and the purchase of two additional plates at a cost of over $100). Regardless it is very well made and has the potential for a lot of use under various conditions. However purchasers should be aware of the total possible cost of the head and all plates that they might require. These same additional plates that I required might also be required with other cameras and lens combinations. Check the total cost of any heads and plates that you are considering before purchasing.

Too short

It's too short for the Canon 100-400 lens with the 1.4 extender. Will return it and ask for an exchange..P 20

Convenient and inexpensive way to mount the Nikon 70 to 200 mm lens on a tripod with a ball head. I did NOT have to replace the factory foot/collar.

Comments about Wimberley P10 Quick Release Plate:

I needed this lens plate for use with my sidekick gimbal as my 80-400mm Nikon zoom was unstable on my RRS 55 Ballhead. The plate solved my balance problem with the sidekick and now the camera lens is perfectly balanced on the sidekick gimbal..

Comments about Wimberley P10 Quick Release Plate:

I use this with my EF300 f/4. The anti-twist flanges work well. Other plates without these would eventually twist and loosen, no matter how much you tighten them.

Seems to be well made with very close tolerances, as if it were an aircraft part.
