I was in search of an inexpensive green screen that was portable and found this bundle of a collapsible, reversible green/blue screen that seemed to fit my needs, and it came with its own stand, how perfect.Well the stand wasn't designed specifically for the green screen. [...] The handle seemed easy but did not tighten enough to secure the boom. That's when I went through the box in hopes of an instruction sheet and instead found a spring and a knurled insert that apparently belonged in the cavity in the handle. Once I figured this out the handle worked correctly.Next was discovering how the boom arm had to come out all the way before it could be pivoted and ajusted. I'm sure this would be second nature for a seasoned professional but I'm a newbie and this was not immediately apparent. The clips don't easily grasp the green screen. This is because the screen's frame is flex-steel that is about 1/2" wide, but, with a little effort it is doable. I quickly realize that the screen is too heavy for the stand to support from the side. That's when I realize that the hole on the other end of the boom is probably meant to be an anchor point for some type of counterweight (again, a newbie issue). The stand appears to be well made and is probably excellent for the use it was designed for. I expect to find it usefull for a number of things. It would be great if there were a bag for carrying it or perhaps an optional case. The cons were [...] the lack of an instruction sheet with a parts assembly and breakdown diagram. The user is left to discovery everything on their own.Had there been an instruction sheet and a fabric storage bag I would have considered giving it 5 stars.

This stand broke before I could use it. The design is poor. Before I was able to actually use the stand, the threads in the body of the stand that a tensioning screw threads into, stripped out.

As a mechanic I feel that I am qualified to comment on the durability of fasteners and threading a metal 'T' screw into plastic is only going to last so long. The screw threads that failed are the ones used to tighten the legs into position. If you plan on buying and using this stand, do so only if you plan on leaving it in one place. If you plan to open and close it more than a few times, pass.

I found this stand heavier than I expected, which for me detracted from its value.

The reflector arm is more complex than it needs to be to attach a reflector. Since I was able to return the item to B & H and exchange it for the Norman stand with arm, I can assure you, the Norman is more secure and many times less complex. Lighter too.

The arm clips are a conundrum. While they are substantial from a clamping (spring strength) point of view, since they are 3" long and straight, they don't hold the curved reflectors properly. The faces of the clamps are rubber (or silicone) and grooved but can't be made to completely grip the curved edge of a reflector. In my initial examining of the stand and reflector set, I found the clamps awkward and too close to the arm itself making it hard to attach a reflector.

To summarize, I originally found the cost of the stand, arm and reflector set too irresistible to pass up, and while the package seemed too good to be true, I bought it anyway. I sent it back (it is so great to shop at B & H because of great policies like theirs for returns) and ordered the Norman equivalent. Better arm and stand. Spend the extra and buy it once.

Boom mic...check. OR reflector/diffuser...check.

Comments about Impact Multiboom Light Stand and Reflector Holder - 13' (4m):

I delayed for some time buying a boom, I did not realize that they (at least in this case) are truly multipurpose. There is a thread for a mic on the end, which means I can boom sound in, YAY! But I primarily intend on using this for reflection and diffusion.

Put on a sandbag and call it a day.

Must Have Accessory, Sturdy, Adjustable

Comments about Impact Multiboom Light Stand and Reflector Holder - 13' (4m):

This boom stand is a must have accessory for the Lastolite 4x6 reflector for be able to work alone. It seems sturdy, and is very adjustable. It's a good weight unless you are working in a strong breeze but the leg braces allow for a sand bag. However the reflector is a sail if you are working in a breeze.

Comments about Impact Multiboom Light Stand and Reflector Holder - 13' (4m):

I bought this product to use a light stand for my speed light, boom for both reflector and speedlight. although I attach my speedlight by itself, boom arm bends a lot. Handles are hard to use. They are filmsy and bend. it is impossible to know if they tighten or not beacuse you can keep tightening them forever. handles and screws also jam a lot. It is very hard to use. The only thing you can do it set it for a certain position and leave it forever to use basic light reflector (less than 0.5kg)

Flimsy, but works for mic or reflector

By Harlan

Comments about Impact Multiboom Light Stand and Reflector Holder - 13' (4m):

This product is kind of flimsy, but it is also light (easy to maneuver and carry), and flimsiness doesn't bother me much, as I use the stand for a reflector and a microphone (I bought two, one for each). It is a pretty versatile stand because of the ability to put a mic on it that can hang over the talent. You can also hang something heavier like a light panel, but in this case you would have to counterbalance the boom arm with a weight that you can hang through a hole provided at the opposite end of the boom arm.

It's kind of expensive for the build quality, but I couldn't find anything else that could do both booming and straight up standing as "cheaply". For some reason these sort of light stand type of items are way expensive, so this is relatively inexpensive by comparison. But, then again, those C stands are really heavy duty products, from what I understand.

This multiboom is a great assistant. Holds lights and reflectors without using a bunch of tape. Easy to adjust. Be sure to have a beanbag or two to hold in place.
