I bought these in January 2016 and most of the issues reported in past years have been addressed.

The stool couldn't be easier to put together. It came mostly assembled, just need to put the lift on the base and the cushion on the lift. Done. Seems quite sturdy, and there's no odor.

The table now has a large plate on the bottom that is attached by four 1/4 x 1/2" screws to metal fixtures sunk into the wood. The center post attaches to the plate by a large bolt and two anti-twist screws. Transport and storage can be done by removing the 4 screws. You could replace these with thumbscrews to make it even easier.

There is some minor flex and twist, but this is an inherent issue with having a single center post that can be conveniently raised and lowered. I have no problem with it, but if you do, you'd need to use a 4 legged table instead.

The stool works fine. It spins perhaps a bit too easy, so that someone who sits on it quickly might fall off, but otherwise I can't complain about it.

The table, on the other hand, is a total piece of junk. The attachment from the plate on the top surface to the column is two small screws, which work loose and then get stripped very quickly. Adjusting them requires removing the plate--which is, ironically, attached to the top surface far better than the plate is attached to the column. The vertical adjustment lock is hard to turn, and you have to put some weight on the bottom and yank hard on the top to raise it up.

And don't even think of having someone lean on the table anywhere but in the center. The top will tear clean off, destroying the two weak screws that hold it in place in the process.

Buy the stool separately if you're looking for a deal, and then buy a more sturdy table.

Difficulty in assembly

Comments about Impact Posing Table and Stool Kit:

I purchased the combo stool and table. The stool assembly was easy peasy. In fact, there was actually some preassembly and less steps were needed than the instructions tell you. It was a bit the same on the table until you come to attaching the mounting bracket to the pneumatic tube. There are three screws. One is a 3/8" hex screw, which needs a hex screwdriver, not included. Not too many households have that so a trip to the hardware store. The other two screws are a 1/8" x 3/8" bevel head wood screw that is supposed to go into the metal pneumatic tube. I called Impact's customer service and a nice gentleman named Jeff said he would speak to the product manager and call me back, which he did. Evidently they had been "thinking" about including the hex screwdriver. (think harder, guys). On the smaller screws, the product manager suggested I tighten the screw, back it out a 1/4 turn and repeat as it would seat better than if the hole was machined. Given the screws are so small it didn't take long to strip the head the Phillips screwdriver goes into. I'm off to the hardware store again.

This Kit is Both Convenient and Affordable!

Comments about Impact Posing Table and Stool Kit:

Despite a few tepid reviews by other purchasers, I've found this posing set to be more than acceptable in general use. The stable, well-padded stool has a wide-ranging height adjustment. I find it can easily be unpacked and assembled on site, then just as easily disassembled and stowed again for transport. The table on the other hand presents a bit of a challenge if you're not going to keep it assembled all the time. The tabletop attaches to the upright support via a steel plate secured by four mounting screws. When assembling or disassembling, this plate must be removed from the underside of the table to allow a 10mm center bolt and two small stabilizing screws to secure it to the adjustable post. Since I prefer to keep it stored between uses, I've found it convenient to keep a mini-toolkit right in the box -- NO TOOLS came with the table. My little toolkit safeguards the 10mm bolt and the two small stabilizer screws along with several items I bought separately: a 10mm lock-washer for the bolt, an 8mm hex wrench, a packet of extra #4 Phillips-head tapered woodscrews, a #2 Phillips-head screwdriver and a small (shirtpocket) #1 Phillips-head screwdriver. Additionally, I also purchased a roll of plain white-vinyl shelf-liner and cut a piece the same size as the tabletop for those times when I want reflected light up under my subject. I'm very happy with this stool/table combo and find it provides just the right setup for my portrait sessions.

This product has really been good for my photography busines

Comments about Impact Posing Table and Stool Kit:

I am using the table and chair for my photography business. I can now have my clients sit on this sleek round stool instead of my bar stool. It also helps with the client sitting upright and not leaning. My items arrived a few days ahead of time as usual. I have made B&H the place to shop if I can't find it at a reasonable price in Denver. CO

I recommend this set and it was cheaper than purchasing it on amazon, this includes shipping.

Great little set if your looking for something that is temporary. The table it self came damaged, but didn't have time to return it. Large dent in the front of the table and it was missing some hardware.

Comments about Impact Posing Table and Stool Kit:

They are used in my small studio - I am not a pro, but have fun with friends and family. The stool is fine and seems sturdy. The table was a little bit disappointing, hence the three-star rating. The provided screws, which attach the plate to the back of the table surface nearly came through the top. There are noticeable bulges on the table top - I backed off the screws a little bit, but there is a discernible bump remaining. I fully expect them to break through at some time in the future. The two other provided screws were too long for attaching the center section on the back and my husband had to root around to find some replacement screws to do the job.

although the table was missing a screw(which I picked up at Lowes) everything else was fine. They were very easy to assemble and work great. I didn't report the screw missing because picking one up was quick and cheap!

Arrived in two boxes... mostly assembled already. Did have to remove the plate under the table top to install the base, but hardly a big deal. Very useful in portraiture. Often place a reflector on the table to provide fill light. Table also useful in some tabletop photography.

Use it for portrait posing. Easy to install. Posing stool is good, and easy to use. Posing table is not easy to use (hard to adjust height). Construction seems strong. Sometimes, the parts do not fit (esp for the posing table), but BH will readily get a replacement.

[...] I've owned the posing stool and table for well over a year, use them both constantly and haven't had a bit of trouble. The table has hydraulics, raises and lowers easily and won't go crashing down in the event you loosen the knob and are not holding on to the table. The stool is comfortable, has a lever to adjust the hydraulics and works like a charm. For the price, you can't beat this set and unless you need more it's a great value for doing portraiture.

I bought this last year to use up a credit I had[...] Although the table rises, it will not stay put. I have no idea why the stool will not raise. Maybe you need to be an engineer to put this together and work it, I don't know. Most likely I am going to throw it out.
