I bought this stand to accompany my avenger baby boom arm. It works great and the wheels are a luxury I can't live with out. I can work without a wheeled stand if I don't use the boom, but with a boom arm on and set up with a light and modifier a wheeled stand is needed.
The only drawback I can see is that even though it looks very solid and works great, I expected it to be solid while extended as well, but it wobbles a bit. That is the only reason it doesn't have a 5 star rating. However if I had to buy it again I would, it was just that I was expecting more "solidness" out of it

This is a well-made stand, however. I mounted an Avenger D600 Boom Arm (8lbs), and a Kino-Flo Diva light (14lbs), raised the stand up, and was concerned with the amount of wobbling I was seeing in the aluminum risers. I wish this stand was all-steel. Unfortunately the all-steel stands have much wider legs.

With the risers down, I have mounted 18.5lb Kino-Flo Tegra lights, and its very sturdy. I do not feel I need sand bags on the legs.

I put a heavy Profoto B1 and a Mola 22" beauty dish on this lightstand with no problems whatsoever. It can take a beating even through rough terrain.

I'm so glad I purchased this rolling stand. I've wanted one for years - it makes it so easy and quick to shift lighting patterns.
It's very sturdy and rolls along easily and smoothly. I purchased the boom arm also. It's a great addition.

I was looking for a boom and stand to support a 32 inch softbox and this was a great fit for me. I wanted it to be able to handle the weight and have wheels so I could move it around.

Build quality great, easy to set up and sturdy. I have bought some cheap stands only to see them fall apart. I like the low center of gravity. I can use my boom arm and verry stable. I mount 2 elinchrom strobes on it for key and fill light.

I purchased a lighter weight roller stand that proved insufficient for a D600 boom arm with a Mola Setti and Profoto B1 Air mounted.

The A5029 stand is stable and holds a heavy load without fear of tipping.

A heavy-duty, easy-to-use, stand that I use with my Profoto D1 and the 5' RFi Octa Softbox. A few years ago, a seasoned pro photographer suggested I get a high-end tripod that I would use for the rest of my photography career; I did and have never looked back. This stand fits in this category and is very stable and easily movable, a must for larger light shaping devices. It is also compact and easy to transport for location shoots, those with a firm and smooth floor.

I've been using C-Stands for years now on location, but there are times when it's just easier to move a big light weighed down by sandbags with wheels! Solid stand, and the breaking system on the wheels seems to work well. I also like that the wheels are easily removed for transport or when you don't want to use them (outdoors, for example).

Comments about Avenger Roller Stand 29 with Low Base (Chrome-plated, 9.5'):

This is the first heavier-weight stand I've purchased, but the build quality seems excellent. No tradeoffs are made against durability and strength. I bought this along with the D600 mini boom, which seems to be made for this stand (same materials, pole width, knobs, etc).
Currently have not used the boom with the light stand for anything heavy, but by itself, the light stand holds my Mola Setti Beauty dish w/ Alienbees b1600 light. It can be tilted at any angle, with or without the wheels on, and feels very sturdy without need for extra weight.

The specs in the listing say that the stand is 14lbs. It feels significantly heavier than that though.. And remains about 4-5 ft long when collapsed. I still manage to carry it around, but would not classify this as portable if that is something youre looking for in a light stand. You tradeoff the weight/portability of aluminum and carbon fiber for pure strength at a good price

The stand is exactly what I hoped it would be: sturdy and a bit on the heavy side. Perfect for some light boom work and for moving around an 86" umbrella with relative ease.

I'm taking away a star because it was missing a bolt and nut that was needed to attach one of the casters. I would have returned it but this was a last minute emergency purchase. I picked up a replacement parts in a local hardware store for about a buck. Keep in mind, the nut is in mm so you'll need an appropriate socket. (9mm I believe.)

Strangely enough the stand was also missing any sort of instruction manual or warranty- odd for Manfrotto.

This stand is just like you'd expect. Its extremely study and th wheels roll smoothly. My one complaint is that one of the casters was cross threaded at the factory and wasn't screwed in all the way so the first time I went to use it at the studio it fell apart and I wasn't able to fix it until I got it back to my work bench.

I bought this stand to carry a manfrotto super boom for use on fashion sets. It holds the medium softbox+head~13 lbs and the 20 lb counter weight with ease, the casters are the perfect size and quality. It is also the perfect height to be able to left up with one person and keep a center of control below chest height for anyone 5'2" and taller. it will extend up to above the standard 11 foot auto pole extension. It could be heavier on the bottom for ease of raising, I recommend the steel version for in studio, the aluminum one I got is great but could be heavier.

I use this stand to mount an Einstein strobe with anything from the smallest reflector up to a 30x60 softbox or 64" PLM umbrella. It is sturdy, smooth wheeling and easy to move around the studio. These stands have a top notch durable finnish and the casters have brakes that hold firm (maybe too firm). I really like the way they fold up for transporting and are now part of my gear. One more thing; I won't need to buy these stands again because if cared for properly they will outlive me!

This is a top-notch. An investment that won't lose its value.

I can't believe how good this is for the price. This thing is solid! It probably won't be the last one I buy.
