My father bought this 10 years ago and its incredible how they can resist everything (in comparions with all of the others for the same price). They're durable, comfortable but the best thing is... this headphones SOUNDs SUPERB for the price A+

Recently i bought two pieces from this for two friends, they can't be believe the quality-price relationship (they are using for voice over recording).

I tested, im a radio producer with knowledge on music production and im sure that every singer, voiceover or producer needs this mandatorily on his/her studio, no matter if is home or pro.

I bought these to replace a set of Sony MDR-V600 that wore out. I am very familiar with this line of Sony cans. These, compared to the ones I've used over the past ten years seem a tad lighter, smaller... not cheaply built, but just not as much mass as they used to be.I am used to the flat frequ range and absolutely HATE headphones that bump up all that bass mess. I need a flat range to mix. So, no prob here.I use them for recording broadcast interviews and mix video. Not sure if they would be my first choice for music.I will say that if you are looking for a set that will block out external sounds..... these will not isolate. I'm fine with that as I don't have to constantly pull them off a ear to hear what people are saying.I don't have a problem with them... but I do agree that Sony could have knocked off $ by not using that ridiculous (wasteful) packaging it came in.

Comments about Sony MDR-7506 Headphones:

I ordered these for my son and he says as an audiophile he thinks they're not far from perfect. And they block out ambient noise very well as from the lawn mower.

Great basic production headphones

Comments about Sony MDR-7506 Headphones:

The sound great and are comfortable. Come with a simple case and 1/4" adapter. My only complaint is that there is a small wire from the ear cup to headband on each side and I'm afraid it will be the part that gets snagged on something and break. My old Sonys had that wire tucked inside, not exposed, they lasted for 8 years before blowing out. Time will tell if it's an issue or not. Still very happy with my purchase of two of these for our video studio and field production.

Comments about Sony MDR-7506 Headphones:

Love everything about these headphones with one exception, the folding ear cups make it harder to put on headphones. They sound great and are comfortable to wear for hours at a time.

Comments about Sony MDR-7506 Headphones:

I'm still using the first two pairs of these that I purchased for studio use almost ten years ago. Clean sounding and wicked durable. Needed a couple more pairs for taking on the road/field recording. What's really nice is that the new ones fit, feel and sound like the old ones, meaning no surprises or having to adjust my listening to a different set. Dependable both in build quality and sound quality.

Great sound for mixing and daily listening

Comments about Sony MDR-7506 Headphones:

These work great and have a really good bass sound.  They work great for mixing audio and just for listening to music or podcasts. I had a pair up at my work and I liked them enough to buy a pair for myself for home use. Would highly recommend.  Also, they work great for in the studio.  Even for drums...although you have to turn them up pretty high to overpower the drum kit.  Still, they can handle it without blowing out...so far ;)

Comments about Sony MDR-7506 Headphones:

I have many headphones and these ones hit the sweet spot. They are perfectly balanced and neutral sounding. They might not reveal as much fine detail as other headphones but they excel at everything else. Easy to drive and isolate well for recording. Wish I bought a pair sooner.

Great headphones for all day office listening.

Comments about Sony MDR-7506 Headphones:

I use these at work as a software developer and they work great plugged directly into a MacBook Pro. The sound is very clear and they do block out some noise. They're fairly lightweight and comfortable enough for all day wear. I've been using Sennheiser HD 280 Pros for the past 5 years, and while they block more noise, the clarity on these Sony's is much better. In my opinion, I have upgraded by switching to Sony.

sound great but a little flemsy

By Brian

Comments about Sony MDR-7506 Headphones:

I got these after trying many others because of so many good reviews. They really do sound great, very neutral clear and natural. I use them mostly for monitoring the main mix while jamming in a band on electronic drums. Sometimes the whole band wears them for a silent rehearsal. They do seem a bit flemsy though. Sometimes The cups swivel into reverse position when picking them up and the external wires on the earpiece seems risky, almost snagged them a couple times, but as long as you're careful they will last. After trying them a while I bought 2 more pairs for when people come that don't have their own so I know we're all hearing the same mix. A couple friends liked them better than what they had so they got their own too.
