Very nicely made & low. I was looking for a stand that is light, well made & can go from low to high.

Love how compact the stands are when folded.  Very sturdy.  Made i USA!  Only issue is the 5/8 stud is fixed and not removable.  You won't be screwing threaded accessories directly onto the stand.  This fact should be a little clearer in the description.

There are much better stands, but nothing I know for what i need: light, going all the way to the floor, easy to transport and install.

Comments about Matthews Reverse Stand - 7':

I purchased these stands to use when traveling by air with baggage limitations as they are short and light enough when closed up to fit right in my suitcase.  They are adequately sturdy for outdoor work unless it is windy. Then I'd recommend sandbags for added weight.  I used these with AB lights with reflectors.  These stands wouldn't be my choice for studio use or if you use larger heavier lights and large modifiers.

Matthews reverse stand

Comments about Matthews Reverse Stand - 7':

If you own the Profoto B1 kit then these stands are a must have. The profoto bag that comes with the kit has side pockets which the stands fit into perfectly. I have used these stands with the profoto B1 lights and the 4x3 RFI soft box and the stands hold the weight with no problem

I've been a long time user (5 years) of the Manfrotto Nano stand but came to these Matthews Reverse Stands from a wedding photographer colleague.

The Matthews are taller, have a wider footprint, and hold 4x the weight than the Manfrotto Nanos. By the time you add a flash bracket and speedlite, these are just about the perfect height for reception and event rim lighting.

I've also mounted my Elinchrom Rangers/ELB 400 head with a 39" deep octa for location run & gun portraits with an assistant. Very sturdy and easy to maneuver in tight city locations.

Highly recommended and well worth the minor price increase over the Manfrotto Nano stands.

Nice lightweight stand that is able to sit low very low to the ground. I love how the footprint is much easier to adjust than most standard stands.

Perfect Travel Light Stand and holds 11 LBS.

I just got this and looking at the other reviews some were down right wrong.. where it would not open easy.. First thing you do is remove the sticker on the side of the Stand that way it does not bunch up and keep from opening the stand.. "I learned this the hard way" once removed and the glue gone.. it "operates" smoothly. Paired with the "Impact Dual Shoe Mount Ring" and the Impact round Soft box and grid you got a great system.. I am ordering 2 more to do a Joel Grimes look.. that is portable..

This helps get the softbox down low. It helps to position behind your subject without having to clone out light stand legs.

Comments about Matthews Reverse Stand - 7':

I've been looking for a short but strong stand, and this is it. Regular stands only go down to 3 feet and my short stands just weren't strong enough to hold a softbox. The legs lay flat on the ground, which is kind of weird, but it works fine.

Folds up nicely and good for travel as a solo stand. Sturdy though mostly used for holding a Zoom recorder or Small HD monitor.
