Comments about SanDisk Sansa View 8GB Portable Media Player:

I only use the mp3 players I buy to listen to and record NPR radio programs. I was extremely disappointed with this product. I liked the fact that it could record 100 hours or so of programming, but the fact that it would only scan a file at 10x speed made it essentially unuseable for someone like myself. The battery life is rediculously short. When recording the battery is exausted after 4 hours and just listening to fm playback the battery only lasts 6 hours. The Sandisk Fuze recorder can go through a 6 hour file in approximately 15 seconds as against 36 minutes to go through a six hour file on the sansa player. I thought about the possibility that the player or the battery were defective, but after buying very many models from very many manufacturers--cowon and sony to name just two besides the sandisk products I have bought, I can only come to the conclusion that companies are not really penalized by consumers for blatantly lying about these aspects of their products.

Comments about SanDisk Sansa View 8GB Portable Media Player:

I use my MP3 player to listen to audiobooks when falling asleep, or for listening to classical music either on a train or hooked up via an auxillary cord in my car. I love classical music, and what's great about the 8 GB Sanza view player is that the sound quality is excellent. I listen to a lot of Baroque music with harpsichord, and if that sounds clear and beautiful, you know the sound quality's good. I have alot of cds, and they will all fit onto this mp3 player. The one annoying thing about it is that sometimes if I have a two disc set of either an audio book or a lot of violin sonatas, the player will smoosh the tracks together into one 'album". All I do is make a play list of each cd, and it's not a problem. Also, since I use the drop file method of storing music (I tried the synching way, and for classical music, hated it..wasted hours of my life trying to straighten things out that way), my file organization isn' exactly matched by the player, and sometimes my titles of albums, if I change them, are not retained by the player. But again, I just make them a play list, and it's fine. Overall, I love this product...the display is really good, and its recording quality is also quite good. I had damaged by accident my first sanza view 8 gb player, and immediately got this replacement, wtih a 2-Year SAGEMAX Replacement Plan by NEW where, for a very reasonable price, you're protected for 2 yrs for accidental spills, drops, etc. Something that's great for an often exhausted mother of two young active boys.

Comments about SanDisk Sansa View 8GB Portable Media Player:

We stuck with Sansa because our first smaller Sansa was still working after four years of hard use. This larger model has great sound for your music and FM. We upgraded the earphones and also purchased the Griffin Power Duo for the convenience of plugging it into the wall or car.

I use the view everyday. I listen to live albums. Here is a short (.5 seconds) lag between tracks. I have a 4 gig e200 there is no lag between tracks, and I can use windows explorer to add files. If there were no lag. I would give it a 5 star.

Comments about SanDisk Sansa View 8GB Portable Media Player:

Hello, if you are interestested in purchasing this item listen to this. I have it for 2 weeks now and use it wherever I go. It is slightly big because of the screen, so I am sometimes concerned it might fall out of my pocket, but it is worth it. Sound quality is excellent & there is so much room to store music in it it's amazing. I still haven't been able to figure out how to put on it audio books, there is not enough information supplied with the product so I am still searching for a solution online. SanDisk promotes this product as having a long life battery of ~36 hours, I did not test it but I think my batterys' lifespan is closer to 24- 28 hours, which is good enough for me. But all in all it is perfect.
          I really recomend it!

Comments about SanDisk Sansa View 8GB Portable Media Player:

I bought this as a cheaper alternative to the ipod. It has the same screen size as the ipod classic. And also has a microSD memory slot. The ad says it only takes up to 4GB, well the manufacture web site says it can support up to 32GB cards. I use mine with 2 8GB cards with no prob. The player has excellent musical range and sounds excellent. Long battery life, and FM radio.NOw it says it supports the video formats MPEG4, WMV, and H264 with out having to convert files. But I have had nothing but problems with MPEG4 and H264. The converter it comes with is worthless !!!!FOr some reason I can only get WMV to play after I sync with Windows Media player. Supposedly it natively supports MP4(MPEG4 up to 2Mbps,AAC up to 266Kbps) up to 600x480fps. No matter how many converters I use, I cant get it to work. Now I can watch MPEG4 and H264 on it but no with the ones I format. Dont know why but I have had sucess with WMV. No a big prob, but still.....I have had some sucess using Xilisoft Ipod converter to watch MP4's for the Sansas View. Also the pictures look AWESOME!!! The screen really has a sharp vibrant look.[...]
