I would think that how one would use a cleaning cloth for lenses would not necessitate a disseration. Apparently I'm wrong. So, pick up the cloth using the fingers of either hand, make sure that the things on the cloth designed to prevent the cloth of drifting away in a hurricane by making it more gripable are away from the lens (i.e. touching one's fingers) and move the cloth in a circular pattern over the lens until dust, finger prints and other detritus disappear and the lens is clean. What makes this cleaning cloth so worthy of exhaustive comment is that when used as described, it cleans. Yippee!! and thank you for your attention.

Hard to get excited about this product. It's about the size of a paper tissue. One side has a grip patter on it and writing that says DO NOT USE THIS SIDE" so that's a bit useless! I paid for a full cloth but can only use one side of it? Also the dye on the "unusable" side leaked onto wrapping it came in, yeah I'm not sure about using this cloth for anything but my reading glasses cause I would hate to mess up a lens with this and who wants to spend that much time doing spot removal (which was really the purpose of buying the cloth in the first place). On the plus side it is 18% grey, which if you are into all that technology then hey you have your very own grey card that folds up really small and has grips on one side. So you know, it's a cloth.

A great idea

a very good lens cleaning cloth but the best part is having the grey handy. When I photo colored objects i put a little corner of the cloth in the periphery and then use this to white balance in Aperture then crop it out.

My new favorite cleaning cloth...

I love these little cleaning cloths! I have one of these stuffed in every bag and case I own. Not only have I used these for white balance in a pinch, but they clean remarkably well. You can't use both sides, unfortunately, but the little rubber nubs on the back do help in making it easy to grip if you're cleaning larger optics... the front element of a Canon 300mm f/2.8L IS, for example.

It's a cleaning cloth

By Brian

The cloth has worked fine but it has rubber dots on one side rendering that side useless for cleaning. At least it warns you not to use that side but I am not sure why they are there to begin with, it is just a waste of a side and an easy way to accidentally damage your lens or screen if you aren't paying attention.
