I bought the INDURO GHBA Gimbal Head to use with my Nikon 200-500mm lens on a MeFOTO RoadTrip Aluminum Travel Tripod and it works great.

No need to remove the ball head on the tripod. Just put the Induro GHBA Gimbal head into the Arca-type quick-release ball head.

It's a good compromise between stability and weight.

Bought this for a canon 500/4 IS. Sturdy product but the "Universal" lens plate that came with it did not fit the tripod foot of my 500. Called Induro to ask for an exchange. Rep was only interested in selling the full gimbal. No resolution. Exchanged it for a wimberly Sidekick.

It works

By Brian

Comments about Induro GHBA Gimbal Head:

If you don't do wildlife photography much but still want the gimbal head for when you do, this Could be the product for you. It is simple and easily used with a ball head that as an arca Swiss plate.

I used it on my RRS ball head with good success at Bosque Del Apache this past December. Photographed using a Nikon D500 with the sigma 150-600mm sport lens. Only issue using this lens with the head was balance would change due to the heavy front element when extending the lens out to 600mm.

It is half, or more, the price of the well known gimbal heads and does a very competent job. It weighs less and is more compact than most gimbals, and fits into your bag very neatly.

Very smooth, high quality product at a very fair price. Love that I don't have to change heads, or carry two heads in the field if I want to switch from shooting wildlife, to landscapes etc...

Works as advertised and worth the price

Comments about Induro GHBA Gimbal Head:

Used with a Nikon 70-200mm telephoto zoom on a meFoto tripod w/ ball head; solves the stability issue of heavy telephotos on ball heads at a reasonable price; most other gimball mounts I checked out were more flexible, more stable, but at significantly higher cost. Semi-pro amateurs should consider adding it to their kit.

Comments about Induro GHBA Gimbal Head:

I saw this advertised and thought it would be what I needed. I was completely blown away by the way it works. It saved me over $500. If I would of bought a Wimberly Gimbal it would of set me back over $600. I think this GHBA does exactly what the more expensive one does. I already had a Sirius Ball Head Tripod and this matched up with the ball head like it was made for it. I use it with a 150 x 600 Tamaron lens and it is completely adjustable when mated on it. What a great savings and a great Gimbal head. Keep up the great products.

Good Value

Comments about Induro GHBA Gimbal Head:

First used the GHBA Gimbal Head during a photo field trip at a birding festival in May. The pro-photog/trip leader let me put my Canon 7D MK II on his Canon 500mm prime lens mounted on the GHBA head and an unknown Induro tripod. I had been using a ball head on my own Induro tripod with my 7D MKII and my Canon 100-400 II and I decided I needed to upgrade to the GHBA Gimbal. It is a snap to put on and take off the current ball head and locks up solid. With the gimbal head I get a much smoother and quicker subject acquisition and I don't have to fiddle with locking on the subject as the gimbal head stays put when properly balanced for the lens/camera combination.

Perfect for my needs

By Vince

Comments about Induro GHBA Gimbal Head:

Paired this gimbal head with AS Monoball Z1 and you got yourself a portable gimbal for use with telephoto lens. I use it with Canon 70-200mm IS2 w TC 1.4 and my tamron 150-600mm and your set for serious wildlife photography. Planning to get canon 500mm f4 prime next year and I feel that this gimbal head could handle it. Save me money by not getting the sidekick and just upgrade to a real gimbal head by wimberley if I get my 500 or 600mm prime, but I doubt I will need it for just the 500mm. This set up could confidently handle a 500mm per my assessment. Smooth finish and looks tough....Buy it and you wont feel youre gonna need more.

Comments about Induro GHBA Gimbal Head:

This is a low cost and low weight way to get into the gimbal tripod head system, assuming you already have a compatible (e.g. Induro) ballhead. Tested with 300mm f/2.8 + 1.4xTC I am pleased with the results. Compared to a standard ballhead, it allows for a quicker reaction to the subject movement. With the panning control on the ballhead and the gimbal control half-open the lens stays in plays and with little effort I can follow the subject.

This gimbal add-on came in a foam-lined box, with a carry bag and extra-long Arca-Swiss plate. It is extremely well made, but I decided I needed a true gimbal device, so I returned this one. For those who need a video gimbal, I can recommend this Induro product without hesitation.

Comments about Induro GHBA Gimbal Head:

I already have two tripods each with a ballhead.
One of these I recently purchased from B and H.
That was a Benro tripod with Benro B2 ballhead.
I wanted a gimbal head for shooting wildlife such as birds in flight but didn't want to spend $400 for a good gimbal head. With the GHBA sidearm mounted on the Benro ballhead I now am able to
use a ballhead or switch to the gimbal set up in
a very quick fashion. With my Sony A7R2 and Sony
70-400mm zoom lens mounted on the Induro gimbal
I find the movements to be silky smooth in all
directions. I wouldn't hesitate to use this set
up with a 500mm f4 lens which I hope to own some
              day.

Comments about Induro GHBA Gimbal Head:

This is quality product that gives you the versatility of using your tripod with ball head + Gimbal head or just the ball head. It's lighter than the full size gimbals therefore it is ideal to use it in an event or travel. Most of the time I use it with my Tamron 150 - 600 mm lens and occasionally use it with my Canon 400 mm (f2.8). It worked well for both setup. Definitely recommend this.

I love this product! I use it for BIF photography with my Canon 400mm prime - that lens is just too heavy for me to handhold with any level of accuracy. The gimbal head has allowed me to greatly increase my captures of BIF. It has a very fluid swivel yet will lock in place securely if/when needed. I can follow birds all over the sky with it very easily. When locked, it holds the weight of my 6D with that lens without shifting. Very happy with this equipment!

A practical alternative to a full gimbal head. Allows me to use my current ball-head without having to remove it every time I want to use my Tamron 150-600 mm. Well made and panning is very smooth. The BIG advantage over a higher priced similar model is that the Induro GHBA comes with a quick release plate. I would of given it five stars except I could not read the serial number label so I could register it online for and extra 5-years added to the warranty.

This is a very well made product and I'm overall very pleasaed with it. I wish it was about 1 inch taller so I could get a steeper angle when using my D700 with a battery grip. The grip hits the ballhead which limit the angle that can be achieved, so needs to be removed to take photos of subjects up high. Regardless, I'm very happy with the purchase.

Comments about Induro GHBA Gimbal Head:

I bought the GHBA Gimbal Head to use with a Sigma 150-500. I use it with a Giotto's MH-1300 ballhead. I have quick release plates for the Giotto's head on both my cameras so all I have to do is remove the GHBA and put my camera on the ballhead if I want to use a shorter lens. I used this head on a trip to photograph migrating Sandhill Cranes and was very satisfied with it. It works just like I'd hoped.
