I use this bracket with a B&H-ordered Westcott umbrella (Optical White Satin - 32") on a standard light stand for headshots at work from time to time. I use the bracket only occasionally, but it's been reliable so far. It holds my Nikon SB-700 Speedlight securely, and even has an upward-angled umbrella slot that brings the center of the umbrella up towards the center of the flash area. This makes for more even light distribution, because otherwise, your speedlight is firing largely into the top half of the umbrella. The construction is largely metal and the fit is solid all-around. My only critique is that the knobs are plastic and smaller - I'd like a little more surface area to grab hold of and torque down. For the price, it's a no-brainer.

you put in on a lightstand and you attach your speedite to it and there is a hole to fit an umbrella if you choose to use it.This unit has metal parts , and although a bit flimsy it is much better than the units that are made of plastic which cannot hold the weight of a simple speedlite and break instantaneously. NEVER put an expensive speedlite in a PLASTIC bracket. It is a recipe for disaster. Spend $ more and get the metal one.

This isn't strong enough to hold a 50" Mega JS Apollo and a speedlight.
Easy to use
Perfect! Sometimes, you just want these to do what you wanted..and this one does.
More compact than other swivels yet still made of heavy-duty metal. The cold shoe/spigot assembly is easily removable and can be replaced with another spigot that has, say, an Area clamp attached. Very versatile. The spigot can also be positioned parallel to an umbrella shaft, aligning the light closer to the center of umbrellas and other modifiers.
Its very handy and convenient light shaping tool for speedlight users. Very light weight to carry anywhere.
Excellent performance, highly recommended
Nice sturdy bracket, I have purchased 3 of these. Also very functional.
I LOVE this bracket! You can move the hotshoe bracket to the side position (hole) and it will allow you to point your flash straight down the spine of your umbrella. I own several other brands that dont offer that feature. It really makes a difference with positioning light direction when the flash is center to the umbrella and not 4 inches above center. You need one or more of these in your life if you use off camera flash.
Its nice , well made and small, I use it almost everyday
The central swivel locking mechanism is very weak and poorly constructed. It will not hold a speedlight and small softbox at an angle without collapsing. I have to keep it in place with a rubber band. Waste of money.
I use this with my canon 430ex ii speedlight with umbrella. Works great and the adjustments allow complete control over any direction you might need to position your speedlight for proper lighting.
You need a bracket. This is a bracket. All the spinny things spin and it connects up well to my stand. What else can you say.
Very good bracket. Sometimes a little flimsy.
Took me a while to get use to it - but now I can say it's a good bracket. The only complaint I have is the screw for the umbrella is a little short. With umbrella which have a small shaft, you cannot jam it in the slot. It design factor is small and compact, which is nice.
Very solid mount for umbrella reflector & speedlight. Good quality product, no cheap plastic.
Solid mounting bracket. Use it for light and softbox.
Great product..very useful.
A nice bracket, does what it's supposed to do.
High quality mount with lots of adjustability!
