I had been looking at this turntable for months before I finally bought it because my last one was a piece of trash. The one I had was a briefcase turntable which had really bad tension and skipped a lot of my records, so when I looked for a replacement, I payed special attention to the build quality. The LP60 stood out to me because of its aluminum construction and autoplay feature, which seems to be pretty rare among affordable entry-level turntables. I ordered my LP60 the day I sold my old turntable and it came in 5 days (FREE SHIPPING) thanks to B&H's fantastic customer service. There's a small bit of assembly upon receiving it, but once you have it set up it sounds great. I noticed a considerable improvement in sound quality when I first played a record on the LP60. The bass was a lot deeper and the sound was clearer and more rich than it was with my old turntable, not to mention there were and are zero skips. This would be the first player I'd recommend to someone looking to buy their first turntable. There weren't any surprises when it came to this purchase because I got exactly what I expected to: a great sounding, great looking, reasonably priced record player.

For someone brand new to turntables this may seem like an amazing deal, but spending some extra money or buying a TT second hand is a much better idea. The main attraction of this turntable (besides price) is its ease of use, but the negatives of this TT far outweigh the positives. The arm is incredibly cheap and does not have a counterweight for tracking adjustment, nor does it have an anti-skate feature. While this probably keeps the price down, these are necessary features, especially if you decide to upgrade anything (which I'm not even sure you can do on this one). The build quality is also sub par. The whole thing is flimsy plastic and feels like a toy.

Does it play records? Yes. Does it sound decent? Yes. But over time it is very likely to wear your records down much faster since it does not have the proper balancing features. A good entry level cartridge costs as much as this TT does, so if you're looking for anything that you want to last for awhile, this isn't it. Don't fret though, because there are options that don't cost much more.

I would recommend this TT if you are in a situation where you don't care if it gets broken or need a backup for some reason. Otherwise just hang tight for a bit and buy a higher quality TT, which is what I did after I returned it and I am very glad I did.

Great player!

Comments about AT-LP60 Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable (Black):

Initially I had the Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB Direct Drive Professional Turntable with USB. I returned it because it was a bit more fancy than what I needed. So I found this one (Audio-Technica AT-LP60 Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable (Black)) here on B&H. Shipped fast and i was surprised how lightweight it was compared to the heavier more upscale version. But I plugged the RCA cables in my old stereo and played a new old record. Works like a charm. Love the automatic arm. Definitely recommend. Grear player.

Comments about AT-LP60 Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable (Silver):

This was a Christmas present to my wife and until presently we have not had the chance to play it since she wanted it separated from our main stereo system to another room.
We Finally purchased all furniture necessary & speakers & hooked it up yesterday for the first time.
Keep in mind our Living Room where the system was set-up, is not small by all means. It is 24 Feet X 15 Feet Feet.
We were absolutely floored as to the quality of this Technica At-LP60 record player.
We played records which dated back 35 to 44 years ago, it was simulating the past all over.
The set-up was remarkably easy, the automatic feature is well liked by my spouse.
Thank you for a great product which will be cherished for years to come.

Didn't play 45s or 33s at the correct speeds.

Comments about AT-LP60 Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable (Silver):

Arrived not playing at correct rpms. This can be adjusted, but it is not mentioned anywhere in the manual, nor is it an easy process. (Adjusting the speed of 45s effects the speed of 33s and vice versa, so you much constantly go back and forth.) It wasn't even possible to get them both right, just to get them close enough.

Also, the description makes it sound like an additional stylus is included. Really the description is proclaiming simply that the single stylus needed to play records, comes with this record player.

After using this for a few weeks now I have to say I'm so glad I bought it. My wife wanted a player for a huge tote full of albums that were given to her by some of her family. Even though we have a receiver with a phono input we also have a couple of other receivers that don't along with a Logitech surround sound speaker set and such that can't accept a phono input. Having the ability to switch between a standard level output or the phono level output is an absolutely welcome necessity and the fact that it comes with the adapters to hook it up to something like my Logitech speakers or a portable speaker is just icing on the cake. It sounds great, has no noticeable hum, noise or distortion in it's output and the automatic operation works flawlessly. Some folks might complain that it doesn't do 16 or 78 rpm but honestly there's not enough of those around to really worry about them anymore.

If you're needing a nice record player that won't break the bank buy it, you won't regret it.

Seamless & Straightoforward turntable

Comments about AT-LP60 Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable (Black):

So far the turntable has been easy to use. You have choice for 12" to 7" records with 2 RPM options. 3 buttons to start, stop, and raise. Overall the setup was done within 5 minutes. There are no built in speakers so definitely recommend purchasing one, make sure you can connect with an RCA cable. I also love that I can play my music and when the one side has finished then it automatically shuts off on its own. Overall it is an enjoyable turntable for starters who want to begin collecting records.

Some flaws

Comments about AT-LP60 Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable (Silver):

I'm not an audiophile, so I'll say it seems to play records well.  My complaints are two things.  There is no lock for the arm.  So, moving it basically can't be done safely without some tape or a twisty tie.  Compounding this flaw is there isn't a power switch.  So, if you brush the play button walking by (or a cat), it will go to town, likely dragging the stylus on the felt until you find it.  I ended up adding a switch to the power cord so I could be sure it would stay off.  Looking forward to getting rid of it.

I ordered this turntable for a receiver that didn't have a phono input. It worked great! Now I replaced the receiver with one with a phono input and I was able to still use it. This is a great little big-bang-for-your-buck turntable. I would buy it again.

Needed a good quality turntable for a good price this fit the bill. Can play regular LPs and 45s. Has a start stop function and a arm lift making it virtually "idiot" proof for the kids that have never seen one before. LOL Not found any downside to it, had to turn on the amp boost switch on the back but that would have been resolved up front had I finished all the setup directions.

I've unlocked my vinyl collection that dates back to the early 60s.

I like that it's automatic, and while it's possible more expensive gear would help things sound marginally better, this model is more than good enough for my ageing ears!
