Comments about Letus35 LTCAGE-1D DSLR Cage for Canon 1D mkIV:

I got this cage to use with EOS 1DX camera, not the 1DIV. I checked out the specs and realized the camera would fit, except that the hot shoe mounting block needs to be milled down somewhat (since the 1DX is taller).

This cage is rather beefy, so no complaints at all there.
It's biggest issue is that it doesn't have a quick-release to remove the camera from the inside of the cage; you have to use an allen hex wrench to remove 2 bolts that go thru cage and thread into the supplied small base plate that mounts on camera.
There are bolt holes in 2 locations: 2 bolt holes beneath the camera (through the bottom of cage), and 2 bolt holes (though edge of cage).
These go into the small dovetailed base plate that mounts on bottom of camera.
BUT, they have different thread sizes. The only 2 bolts supplied (smaller than 1/4 inch it seems) go thru the edge of cage into base plate (the other 2 threaded holes seem to be 1/4 inch size). I don't know why this would be different.
(warning: if you try putting the the small bolts thru the bottom of cage into camera plate, they are too small and too long, and you'll end up scratching the camera's name plate!!).

I'd recommend this only mainly to those who will keep the camera in the cage mostly, as removing it and putting it back in is not extremely quick.
It can be done of course, but just requires fiddling with an allen wrench.
