I did a lot of searching before I buy this one.

Compared to some other expensive competitors, B+W is reasonably affordable.

Build quality is amazing. I comes with a plastic case which is NOT as good as the filter istself.

I mainly intended using it for ladscapes and waterscapes. BUT I've read there were some reddish color cast on the photos. I'll talk about this.

Yes the color cast is sometimes disturbingly visible but at some other time it may completely disappear(same place-same settings). This is an inconsistent effect to be honest. After trying it over 40 different places I've concluded :

-ND 3.0 is too dark that you want to focus first then put the filter on. Also dark filter may cause WB problems.

-ND 3.0 is also too dark that you never want to use aperture or shuttter priority modes. They always calculate half the light of enough exposure. So use manual only and shoot again if it's too dark.

-Reddish color cast mainly emerges when your WB settings are automatic. So shoot RAW if you want to be able to fix your images later.

-In bright daylight situations it can give you around 15 seconds of exposure. Which is bad enough for trees etc. to move due to wind and appear bluury on your final image. This is bad for landscapes and you may go for a brighter ND filter.

-In low light situations it causes desaturation sometimes. The image may seem washed out.

-Perfect for waterscapes and rivers. The water may even look like fog.

-It's really hard to clean, I guess it's bacause of it's coating. Even with a microfiber cloth it takes more than 5 minutes to clean it. So use it carefully.

-In a few photos it caused huge reddish cast only in the center of the image(mostly visible on darker areas). I caouldn't find out why.

Would I buy this product again? Yes, definitely!
Bu double it with a ND 1.2 if you're mostly a landscaper.

I purchased this 9 stop ND filter so that I could try some long exposure daylight shots to get that silky water effect and also to experiment with other subjects such as meadows and tree canopies.

It seems to be well made and it is considerably more affordable than some of the other 9-10 stop ND filters. However, it does have a distinct reddish colour cast. This isn't a serious problem for my purposes but some might feel otherwise.

The effect appears to be consistently even throughout the surface.

Just what I was looking for

Comments about B+W 77mm SC 110 Solid Neutral Density 3.0 Filter (10 Stop):

Using this filter to smooth out the flow of water in landscapes. Tested my filter exposure against a wall and found that it is more of a 10-1/2 stop filter, which means that I actually need to leave the exposure open longer in order to get the correct exposure. Not a problem but good to know. Has a slightly reddish color cast to it but can be easily corrected in post processing. Have only used it for a couple of shoots (weather has been uncooperative) but like what I see so far. Excellent filter for the price. Only four stars because of the color cast. This is a good buy.

Nice ND

Comments about B+W 77mm SC 110 Solid Neutral Density 3.0 Filter (10 Stop):

Really nice ND filter. I have a 10-stop and a 6-stop from B&W and they are excellent. No color cast, quality non-binding thread, really helpful for sunrise, sunset, and moving water.

Comments about B+W 77mm SC 110 Solid Neutral Density 3.0 Filter (10 Stop):

This filter is great for long exposures. I have used it on water and other landscape shots and it has worked very well. It is a solid piece of equipment and I would certainly buy more of these in different stops.

I am a first time user of a ND filter and specifically the 10 stop filter.  I will need more practice but I am very pleased with the results for my first time out using it.

Comments about B+W 77mm SC 110 Solid Neutral Density 3.0 Filter (10 Stop):

I have only had this filter for a couple of weeks and I'm happy to have it. I love shooting long exposure images and now I can do that mid-day. I have it on my canon 10-22mm lens and it vignettes slightly at 10mm. I also noticed my images have a slight red tint to them which is easy to fix in post. Overall, I am enjoying the filter and would recommend it.

Going to use this for the 2017 solar eclipse. I'd prefer an ND5 but those are hard to come by, so this one will suffice.

Inconsistent performance depending on the environment

By Eric

Comments about B+W 77mm SC 110 Solid Neutral Density 3.0 Filter (10 Stop):

It works like a champ in deserts around Nevada, Arizona and Utah where most elements in the natural surroundings are in warm colors (red, orange, yellow), but when I was shooting in Yellowstone where there was lots of greens and in NYC shooting city skylines, the colors gets completely ruined. Skies becomes dirty (like an aqua-blue mess), and other stuff becomes brownish. You can't salvage the shots without heavy hue adjustments. WB alone can't fix it. However I won't complain much as it is cheap yet it still does slow down the exposure for me without much loss in sharpness.

Comments about B+W 77mm SC 110 Solid Neutral Density 3.0 Filter (10 Stop):

Does exactly what it's supposed to do. Make sure you cover your viewfinder completely to avoid a magenta glare on your images.

Like some other reviewers suggested, you may notice a brown/reddish hue overcasting your images. This seems to be because IR light is still being picked up by the sensor - this can easily corrected in LR by adjusting color temperature down. If you're doing professional shoots where you'll absolutely need to get the color right, this probably isn't the filter for you anyways and you should invest in a separate IR Cut filter or spend more money on a higher-end ND filters.
