I know it's expensive but, buy it. Try to find a deal, sell one of your kids or donate a kidney, get it. I have been using the 17mm 1.8 as my primary for the last two years. That is one nice lens and I have no complaints about it but, I found myself wanting more of the scene as opposed to less. That is to say that I wanted wider, not longer. If you like to get close and get it all, without resorting to a Fisheye, this is it. Sharp, fast, built like a brick sh..., you get the idea. I'm passionate about my lenses, good or bad, this is a real keeper. Good luck.

I purchased this lens to be used on my Af100. I was tired of using adaptors with mixed results. This is a nice looking lens though when mounted on the AF100 it looks tiny and silly. If your EGO is easily affected by the size of your lens, don't get this!

Auto focus works well with the Af100, especially when using the focus selection square on the Af100. Aperture switches smoothly and quickly via the iris wheel. The manual "switch" on the lens, which reminds me of the way many Tamron lenses switch to manual focus, causes issues with the Af100. In order to manual focus you need to switch the camera to manual AF. Just switching the lens doesn't work, it causing this un-smooth motion when pulling focus. Smoothest manual focus is had when the camera is set to manual and the lens to Auto focus.
With such a high price and rave reviews I expected superior sharpness. It is sharp but it can't match my Tokina 11-16mm on the Af100. I also own the Olympus 45mm 1.8 and the Nokton 25mm. These two lenses are razor sharp and that is what I expected from the 12mm.

three stars because of the high price and that it isn't as stellar of a performer.

I use this on my X5R on Osmo RAW. Nice lens! No disturbing distortions. Needs balancing ring to be better balanced .. I made one by taping a small nut to the outer filter ring.

Good lens. Just started to use it, but use intensively. Using with body OM-D E5 (1st gen). Picture is decent and what I specially notice: it's absolutely silent and crazy fast

Comments about M.Zuiko Digital ED 12mm f/2.0 Lens (Black):

I'm using this lens with my inspire 1 and the X5 camera. So far it is working flawlessly. I have noticed it handles the over exposed areas nicely giving a nice glow. The factor lens shade I purchased from somewhere else is to heavy for the gimbal and will not fit with my polar pro filters.

Quality Results in a Convenient and Attractive Package

Comments about M.Zuiko Digital ED 12mm f/2.0 Lens (Black):

I purchased this lens to add a wider angle capability to my Pen-F. I already own the excellent Oly 12-40mm Pro zoom, but that lenses feels more at home on my E-M1. My testing shows the 12mm/f/2.0 lens to more than acceptably sharp center to corner wide open, with the best results coming at f/5.6, no surprise. Other micro 4/3 lenses with this focal length may exceed the Oly's performance on the laboratory bench, but I prefer shooting on the street. The compact size, performance and price point make this lens a winner in my book.

Breathtaking shots with this lens. Yeah, it's pricey. And worth every penny. Sell a kidney if you have to. But buy this lens.

Un lente que se ajusta a lo que necesito. Lo monto en S1000+ y desde el aire me da excelentes resultados. En tierra es super luminoso y me genera un textura inigualable. 100% recomendado. Vale lo que pagué por el.

I purchased this to use with my drone. Optics are great. If you are using this product for a drone aircraft, I would also get the hood, UV filter, and a 2-stop 46 mm ND filter. I would not purchase the circular polarizer.

A must with the Zenmuse X5 camera!

Comments about M.Zuiko Digital ED 12mm f/2.0 Lens (Black):

I am generally a full frame camera user. This lens along with the zenmuse X5 camera are my first micro 4/3 setup. All though it may not be as wide as a full frame lens, it is definitely much sharper. If only these lenses fit on ff cameras :)

Great quality lens. Bought this to replace the stock DJI X5 lens. The stock lens is a great lens but I wanted to get a lens with just a little wider FOV. It does a great job. Colors are perfect. Focus is easy to achieve. Low light is better that expected. Happy with the lens.

Comments about M.Zuiko Digital ED 12mm f/2.0 Lens (Black):

I bought this lens in honor of the 24mm Nikkor I once had. It was my go-to lens when I was a photojournalist and architectural photographer, back in the film days. Now I wanted to pair it with my OMDs, for a discrete look of the street photographer and the extra stop over the M.Zuiko 12-40. It's also a much lighter lens, but requires the ole lens juggle for longer focal lengths. Paired with the 17 f/1.8 M.Zuiko, it's a great combination for all kinds of photography. Sharp, fast auto focus and when used with the focus peaking feature of the OMDs, accurate as well. It seems well-made, but only time will tell. I'm no longer out on daily assignments, so I'm not giving it the workout required to properly evaluate its durability.Unique to M.Zuiko's is the manual focus clutch. Pull the focus ring toward the body and auto focus is disengaged, allowing full manual focus. With the ring retracted, distance markings with depth of field scale are revealed. Wow! Just like the old days. Makes zone focusing actually possible on a digital camera. The only minus is that focus peaking does not work in this in this mode, unlike the M.Zuiko Pro lenses. This is what prevented me from giving 5-stars.Forget the $ plus lens hood. I bought a collapsible rubber hood for $ and it protects the lens in the collapsed position without vignetting.

Got this for the express purpose of flying it on the Inspire 1's X5 gimbal/camera. The autofocus is solid and quick and the DJI Go app controls aperture as well as any handheld camera. One note though, it took a bit of digging to figure out that the focus ring itself is the MF/AF selector. Slide it away from the sensor for AF and closer to the sensor for MF.

Comments about M.Zuiko Digital ED 12mm f/2.0 Lens (Black):

Comments about M.Zuiko Digital ED 12mm f/2.0 Lens (Silver):

Got this lens in black around 8 months ago, and unfortunately I already own a Panasonic 7-14mm zoom which is wider and much sharper.Thought the Olympus would give me the pocketable carry around lens, which it is. I shoot mostly in manual focus mode as I prefer picking my own, and like Panasonic's quick touch zoom closeup focus assist where you turn the focus band and it comes on instantly; the Olympus makes you pull back on the focus ring, an unnecessary step, to achieve this. But the main gripe is the Olympus shots are just not as crisp as I'm accustomed to from the Panasonic 7-14mm, plus do not like the Olympus exterior aesthetics with the fussy little chrome ring which detracts from its professional appearance.[@], unfortunately as it cost around $[$].
