great for birding trips (well at least the first one)

Comments about Tenba Roadie II: Universal Hybrid Roller/Backpack (Black):

Great replacement for a Lowepro Phototrekker II (non-roller).  Can fit as much gear, maybe more, than the Phototrekker, yet seems easier to fit into airliner overhead storage.  the Roadie was great to have on a recent West Mexico birding tour.  As I these bags are loaded heavy with bins, scope, SLR & telephoto lens having a roller is much more pleasant.  When a good rolling surface isn't available,  the Roadie has reserve shoulder straps.

Comments about Tenba Roadie II: Universal Hybrid Roller/Backpack (Black):

Haven't flown with it just yet, but have been using it for some daily work and am happy with it. It holds as much as I hoped it would, seems sturdy, and is customizable enough that it should meet different needs as my gear changes. Smallest annoying thing is that handle is a bit hard to grab when it is collapsed.

After upgrading my gear, I needed to make sure that my equipment was well protected and after speaking to a consultant at B&H he recommended the Tenba Roadie II: Universal Hybrid Roller/Backpack (Black). This bag exceeded my expectations. I love that I can carry as a backpack or a Roller. You will not be disappointed with this.

Comments about Tenba Roadie II: Universal Hybrid Roller/Backpack (Black):

After having the Lowepro and Manfrotto I decided that I needed something that's easier to carry all of my equipment around and this bag is perfect for that. It even has wheels so it helps reduce stress on the back. The build and quality is phenomenal. When you pay the price, you are paying for quality and having the quality means having peace of mind knowing my gear is properly stored into the bag.

Comments about Tenba Roadie II: Universal Hybrid Roller/Backpack (Black):

Almost a 10/10. As a photographer who shoots a lot of events in an urban environment, I love the versatility of this bag. It feels very well engineered from the standpoint of protecting gear, particularly around the wheel wells. It works great as both a roller and a pretty comfortable short-term backpack. There are really only two downsides. Firstly, The laptop compartment is compromised when strapping a tripod or monopod on to the front. Secondly, there is inadequate space for bringing home leftovers from parties. Maybe partner with a creatively or un-creatively named food container store for Roadie III?

Comments about Tenba Roadie II: Universal Hybrid Roller/Backpack (Black):

I purchased this bag because I began to outgrow my previous camera bag. This one offers flexibility and convenience. Now I am able to carry more gear when traveling. I like the memory card holder that's included. The construction is well made and should make anyone's life easy to carry especially on a plane. The user replaceable wheel is an added bonus once they where down.

Comments about Tenba Roadie II: Universal Hybrid Roller/Backpack (Black):

I have had a sling bag to transport my Canon camera equipment and was looking for a case with wheels and the capability to fit my laptop as well. I had research this bag for 2 months and this case fits my requirements to a tee. It's a great case. The wheels helped my back and the ability to combine two bags and transport everything I need in one bag is great. The case's features with its replaceable wheels, Heavy Duty fold away handle, Velcro Padded Pockets, Side Opening Door flap, zippered compartments in the door, YKK zippers and weather proof exteriorl helps me not only take my camera equipment anywhere with ease but protects my investment as well. Thank you Tenba for a great product.

Comments about Tenba Roadie II: Universal Hybrid Roller/Backpack (Black):

I use this as my regular camera bag for most jobs.
I previously had a ThinkTank photo backpack but needed the option to wheel my bag as it was killing my back to not be able to roll the case as well.
This is a great, well-constructed bag.

The wheels could be better (more skateboard like would work, instead of so tall and linear). The bag is also a bit heavy.

The perfect version of this bag would be slightly smaller (to work a bit better as a backpack while still fitting plenty of equipment). I would also prefer a more office friendly front pocket, as it seems like an afterthought. The inner pockets are difficult to access but the amount of pockets is nice.

Overall this is a great, strong, versatile bag and the best I could find for the size with backpack straps and roller. Until someone makes a bit more of a streamlined roller backpack, I'm sticking with this.

I haven't taken this on the road yet, but am confident that it will be excellent. Both of my camera bodies and all lenses fit well. It is constructed well and is low key on the exterior, looks just like a carry-on suitcase, not like it has thousands of dollars worth of camera gear inside.
The backpack straps will do the job when I have to cross sand or other really rough surfaces.

Comments about Tenba Roadie II: Universal Hybrid Roller/Backpack (Black):

Currently using this bag for the wedding season and it's fantastic. It's compact but roomy - it can fit two camera bodies with lenses attached, one extra body, 3 additional lenses, 2 small flashes, and a 70-200. Also fits memory cards, flash diffusers, batteries, etc. Also fits my shoulder straps in the front compartment.

The bag itself is super sturdy/durable and has a smooth ride. The wheels can take a beating - I've rolled this thing on rough pavement as well as gravel.

Also, this bag is small enough to fit perfectly in the overhead compartment on a domestic flight vertically.

It's strong especially the handles - I've tied a 40 lb duffel bag over the top to roll across airport terminals and it rolled with ease with no bending. This is an excellent bag for the money.

Comments about Tenba Roadie II: Universal Hybrid Roller/Backpack (Black):

Tons of storage here. The laminated mesh inside pockets are roomy enough for gadgets and cards. I can fit three bodies, a 70-200 lens, and a 24-70 lens without a problem. Wish it came with a dedicated D ring for a security cable. The simple design never attracts attention which is huge when you're tucking it out of the way a reception hall. It was between this and a Think Tank Airport International bag. This one own out for both price and bag design.

I wanted a camera equipment luggage that allowed me to carry the items I needed for the shoot. Moreover, one that was able to support the equipment
and would come under the airplane weight and dimensions restrictions. It also offers the ability to be pulled or carried as a backpack.

Comments about Tenba Roadie II: Universal Hybrid Roller/Backpack (Black):

I've never been more pleased with a bag and I've owned many. The materials are unbeatable. From the zippers to the bullet-proof nylon, you can just feel the difference. Visit a camera store and compare this bag with others…it's undeniable.

The side and top handles are very comfortable to use and the extra padding is definitely appreciated when the bag is fully loaded. I really like how the bag's lid's hinge is along the side as opposed to the bottom. Most all manufacturers put their bag's lid's hinge along the bottom and that makes for a large and unwieldy flap that is annoying to deal with in the field.

The bag rolls smoothly and is actually pretty comfortable as a backpack. My one and only complaint would be that the straps have to really be crammed into the zipper compartment (it could stand to be a bit bigger) and attaching the straps to their respective d-rings takes a bit of time.

I love that this bag isn't flashy but still looks sleek. The bag is definitely not as large as others but I was able to fit a LOT of gear inside including a Canon C100 with control grip attached, Zacuto Recoil Rig, 3 Canon Lenses, GH3 w/ Lenses as well as a Z-Finder Pro, batteries, filters, etc.

This is a great bag that I don't anticipate needing to replace for a very long time.

Needed a carry-on for my 500 f/4, 24-70, two camera bodies, TCs, etc, and the Temba Roadie II did fine. Strong construction assures max protection. Smaller planes required leaving plane-side, with no issues. Fits neatly on larger Jets. Not designed for pack packing long distances, but the built in straps allowed for easy negotiating of steps, escalators, etc. Highly recommended.
