This version - or the 1/4" to 1/4" are essential items for basic attachment purposes. I use this to bolt the Atomos power strip to the Assassin. It's better than the screw that is built into the strip. And then I find myself using it in place of articulating arms where I don't need to position a monitor or recorder or light, etc - I just need it as secure as possible. I go one of these little guys all the time now.

Comments about Impact 3/8" to 3/8" Adapter Spigot:

Use this to connect my tripod and my pistol grip head. The tripod didnt really have one of these screws built in, so this was a cheap replacement to add on my grip.

My Rycote Softie Lyre Mount w/CCA adapter totally out-classes the ultra-cheap boom pole I rigged up to hold it (till I can justify buying a good one) by screwing this adapter into the top of a paint roller handle that I screwed into a light bulb replacer boom.

I have an older metal mic boom that I lost the threaded mic attachment too. B&H knew exactly what I needed, so now I can run two shotgun mics at the same time for double the coverage
