This is a great product for connecting both my Canon 5D MK II and 1Dx to my MacBook Air when shooting at client sites.

The "Tether Tools JerkStopper Camera Support" to hold the cable to the camera is critical to keeping it connected when moving around. The orange color provides great visibility for people who are around the shooting area as black cables just seem to disappear from view.

Why not 5 stars? I'd like to see the plugs for both the computer USB and the camera mini USB fit a bit more tighter as they both feel that they will come out too easily. The Tether Tools JerkStopper Camera Support & Tether Tools JerkStopper Computer Support should be standard with this cable.

We use this Tether cable for in-studio work. We really like the bright orange cable as it catches the eye and helps avoid us from stepping or tripping over it. The negative, is that it falls out of the camera side jack all the time, even if you have the Jerk Stopper the cable kept coming out of the jack on the camera. We ended up using gaper's tape to hold the cable in the camera.

High Visibility Tether

I bought this as a backup cord. The high visibility makes it my #1 choice with the standard Canon black one as the backup after years of solid use. It was cheaper than the Canon The TT cord needed a little trimming to fit the Canon 1Dx cord keeper snap in thing. I prefer Canon's snap in cord accessory that to the TT jerk-stopper. Good quality cord.

I've tried to transfer files from my Canon 6D, and tether with a 7D and 5DM3, and no dice. Just hangs there. No issues using a card reader or anything else.

I've been an assistant to several pro photographers in my local area for a few years now and this is their go- to tether cable for Nikon, Canon, Hasselblad and Phase One medium format digital backs. The 15' length responds relativley fast without having to use a booster and allowing plenty of moving space from your computer. I'll be using my orange cable for tethering between my Macbook Pro and all my Nikon camera's.

The TetherPro cable is easy to use and offers a nice, long reach. I used this in combination with the JerkStopper and it worked very well for a head shot marathon.

So happy I finally got the cable. Its super long and very reliable. You only need to make this purchase once so get the long 15' cable so you have room to move around!

When I first saw this cable, I thought it was just another USB cable. But it is not! It has a strong construction, ideal for connecting your camera to any laptop with USB port.

I use with my Canon T6i and Adobe Lr. It works perfectly. Also, I bought a Jerkstopper to avoid any malfunction of the USB cable, either the connection in the USB port or in the camera.

The length is perfect for most situations in-studio where you may need an extra space between the camera and the computer.

Best for tethering

We are a busy commercial studio and have 10-20 cameras tethered and connected every day, Canon, Nikon, PhaseOne and Sony.
The TetherTools cables have been far and away the most reliable, toughest, longest lasting we've dealt with, including those boxed with the cameras by the manufacturers.
And we love the high visibility orange. On location and in the studio, they are easy to see, and thereby not trip over.

Comments about TetherPro USB 2.0 Type-A to 5-Pin Mini-USB Cable (Orange, 15'):

Nice solid cable. The orange color stands out on set and is a good safety measure for preventing tripping or having your camera pulled over. Get the JerkStopper Camera Support accessory to avoid putting additional strain on your camera's USB connection. 15' of length gives you a nice amount of room to work with.

Transfer rate is great for single shots & short bursts. Longer bursts will obviously take longer to transfer.

Well, it is a cable that gets the job done and that is what matters. The cable itself, to my surprise, was much more flexible that I had expected and yet sturdy enough for it to deal with constant use.

Shoot tethered with your EOS 5D systems!

      • Tethered Capture

      Comments about TetherPro USB 2.0 Type-A to 5-Pin Mini-USB Cable (Orange, 15'):

      • How I use this product:
      - I use this cable to connect my Canon EOS 5D Mark III to shoot tethered with Capture One Pro. I heard that some people have had problems with a frequently appearing "error" message. Be sure to go to Edit > Preferences > Capture > "Enable Tethered Support" and only check the brands you actually use. This will allow the program to instantly narrow down to identifying what you're shooting with for a better connection. I just tested this out on my most recent catalog shoot and it eliminated the hiccups! :D

      • What's great about it:
      - The cable is lengthy and transmission of images to the computer seems very fast even though it's USB 2.0.

      • What's not so great about it:
      - They haven't made a USB 3.0 version of this specific thread (5-pin male), but this one works well for me already.

      • Overall:
      - It's pretty straight to the point. If you have multiple ports and some are USB 2.0/3.0, use the 2.0 ones. Don't forget about the Enabled Tethered Support that I mentioned. I hope that helps! =]
