This worked okay for the Canon 400 2.8. The "clear" plastic you look through to see your images doesn't stay clear but comes opaque over time (at least it did for my two hydrophobia sizes). Also, this does not for the Canon 200-400 well. I was very disappointed and finally decided my $+ for two of these was a waste and finally bought another brand.

Comments about Think Tank Photo Hydrophobia Rain Cover 300-600 V2.0 (Black):

I've used the Think Tank Hydrophobia rain cover 300-600 in extreme snow/rain/wind conditions in Colorado (shooting sports action). It works as advertised keeping my equipment and hands dry. Its easy to install and fits my 1DX & 400mm 2.8 correctly. It can be adjusted to fit firmly and it does not move/shift after insulation. I used it in both horizontal and vertical positions - moving the camera inside the cover. My only negative comment is it's a little snug inside when adjusting the camera to the vertical position. I would thoroughly remind this product.

In my research there were only 2 choices the think tank or the aqua tech I went with the think tank for the ease of access to the camera controls on both sides and the view finder.

Comments about Think Tank Photo Hydrophobia Rain Cover 300-600 V2.0 (Black):

I used the cover 3 days after receiving it to cover a track meet. It rained off and on for 2 days. When it wasn't raining you needed to keep the cover attached to the lens ready to "deploy" at a moments notice. That feature worked very well. The little flap to cover the view finder was easy to use and could be lowered and raised quickly. It is roomy enough inside so you could get your hands inside to work the controls.

Comments about Think Tank Photo Hydrophobia Rain Cover 300-600 V2.0 (Black):

Think Tank never ceases to amaze me. It's consistently the most well though-out stuff and this rain cover is no exception. The material is excellent quality. It has just the right amount of adjustability. Fit my 400 2.8 right out of box, but has the extension piece to make it longer for a 600 f4 and the second loop for the velcro fastener on the hood that makes it tighter for a 300 2.8. And the pouch for the cap...and the pouch for the eyepiece...and the ability to roll it up without removing it from the hood all make this thing amazing.

I purchased this for a recent trip to Maryland's Eastern Shore. It fit beautifully on a Nikon 600mm. I had also intended to use it for my 400mm. While I did not try it on the smaller lens, it appears to have a lot of extra material for it. It did keep the 600mm free from rain, spray and sand.

I originally purchased a cheap rain cover for my 400 mm lens. After the second year of hassle dealing with a cheap one, I upgrade to the Think Tank Hydrophobia Rain Cover. Without the extension, it is a perfect fit for the Canon 400 mm f 2.8 lens. You do not worry about your gear getting wet with this cover. Great quality and protection but it does come at a price.

Too big for a 400mm. There is just too much fabric. Used this on a Fjords tour in Alaska on a canon 100-400mm and a 5DMarkIII. It was just too big. I had purchased this for my husband and his 7D with 400mm prime, still too big. They say the eyepiece for the 7D won't work with a 5D, but it does so don't know what that is about. My husband ended up using the canon rain cover and it was perfect. I think this is phenomenal for use with super telephotos such as 500 or 600 mm primes that have large diameter lenses. Otherwise, it's just too big. Great packing case, great hood cover, well though out holes, well made. We encountered lots of rain but the gear stayed dry.

It's really a rather simply decision to make. If you want the best weather protection bag, buy this one. Like all Think Tank products, it is well designed and made. The plastic back cover is NOT cheap plastic that will crinkle, crack and gets creases in it. It is soft and supple. I actually look forward to shooting in the rain so I can get my moneys worth. True.

Comments about Think Tank Photo Hydrophobia Rain Cover 300-600 V2.0 (Black):

Spent 5 hours on a cold and rainy Saturday afternoon shooting college lacrosse and my equipment was dry as a bone. Then 3 days later shot during monsoon type rains and wind and again dry as a bone. Its a wonderful product that I was reluctant to buy because of the expense but now am very happy and wont hesitate to shoot in heavy rain.
