When I received this item I found at the very end of the instructions that this item cannot be used with umbrellas larger than 45". That's pretty limiting especially for an item intended for use with multiple flashes. It would be nice to include such an important limitation in the item description. I'm disappointed that B&H doesn't insist on more complete descriptions

Own multiple of these. Used to be able to increase power in several of an array of soft boxes .I use this bracket to hold Canon 600rt flashes. Build quality is good enough for this purpose.

Comments about Impact Twin Shoe Metal Umbrella Bracket:

You won't find a better twin bracket unless you build it yourself. It has locking teeth on the pivot point and it is almost entirely made out of metal. Definitely a beefy bracket.

Great for my Canon 600EX-RT and 600EX II-RT

Comments about Impact Twin Shoe Metal Umbrella Bracket:

I was looking for a bracket that I could put 2 Canon 600EX-RT flashes on, after seeing another photographer use 2 flashes for more power (or the same power with longer battery life). This bracket works perfect for a pair of flashes on a light weigh stand (I'm using a portable background stand). Comes with all the hardware you need to mount to your studio strobe stand or background stand. Give you great flexibility for tilting the flashes where you want them.

Comments about Impact Twin Shoe Metal Umbrella Bracket:

Looked at many double cold shoe mounts to use in my 50x50 soft box and with my 7' umbrella. Impact was going to win no matter what just because of their build quality. Can't beat it.

Comments about Impact Twin Shoe Metal Umbrella Bracket:

This is a great way to double the number of speedlites firing into an umbrella for larger group shots.

The bracket seems to be well made and is strong. I was surprised to read in the information accompanying the product that it is only recommended for umbrellas up to 45-inches. Luckily my intended use was with 45-inch umbrellas.

I wish the umbrella tightening knob could hold the umbrella stem a bit tighter so the umbrellas didn't spin as much, but it should work out just fine.

Comments about Impact Twin Shoe Metal Umbrella Bracket:

This bracket is nicely made (all metal construction except for the knobs) and works well. My only complaint is that the knob for tightening the umbrella holder is rather small and right underneath the bar that holds the flash shoes. So it can be a little difficult to turn, and that's why I'm giving the unit only four stars instead of 5. Also, you can't change the side to side angle of the two flash shoes without a hex key wrench if you're so inclined.

Since the flash shoes are open on both ends, for extra security you should not only tighten the shoes with the set screw but you should also use whatever tightening device there is on the shoe on the flash itself. This will make it a lot less likely that the flash might slip out. FYI, this is not something that is particular to this bracket alone, but a "feature" that just about all shoe mount brackets have.

Comments about Impact Twin Shoe Metal Umbrella Bracket:

Easily mounts to a light stand and is strong enough to support the weight of a 7' umbrella. Holds two speedlights securely for increased flash output and is adjustable to get the proper tilt for required coverage.

I have 2 Canon 600EX speedlights that I use with the twin brackets and they fit into the slots securely. There is also a thumb screw that you can use to alter the slot that the flashes go into. Very well put togethor.

I wanted to add a second speed light to some of the Westcott soft boxes I use. I didn't want a tri-grip or quad light holder. This bracket works perfectly for adding a second speed light. It is a sturdy fit on my light stands.

Comments about Impact Twin Shoe Metal Umbrella Bracket:

I do outdoor portraiture using speed lights and a variety of modifiers - soft boxes, umbrellas, etc. Sometimes I need more power than a single Speedlight can provide so this was a very cost effective solution. Good quality, easy to use, but I was surprised at its weight - heavier than I expected but that's not a show-stopper.

it works on my 3/8" dia connection - maybe i should buy a pole that has a 5/8" dia connections. but it seems to be working fine. i will use it more thoroughly in 2 weeks.

but i was also pleasantly surprised to find it had a coupling to connect to the tripod threaded screws.
