Holds just what I need for quick, get-up-and-go kind of photography. This holds my DSLR with telephoto lens attached (or alternatively, my film SLR with lens attached), two extra small lenses (a maximum of three per slot, depending on the size of the lenses - just note that you have to stack smaller lenses, and there won't be any padding in between stacked lenses), my macro filter, my speedlite (w/ flash bounce), all of my cords, my ion battery charger, my filters, my cleaning supplies and my extra memory card.

It is especially good that it has velcro straps that you can use in place/in tandem with the strap buckle. I found that leaving the buckle off and only using the velcro makes it very easy to open the bag and switch lenses/equipment without even having to look at the bag. Much better than the more square bags that may tilt and drop all of your expensive equipment.

I only wish that the strap weren't built on, since built on straps aren't always the most comfortable, and I would have liked metal rings instead so that I could use my custom strap. But otherwise, this fits all that I need.

I ordered the Event Messenger 150 Shoulder bag for a month long trip to India. I needed to carry one GH-3 Lumix camera with short lens, a longer lens, adapters,2 batteries, chargers, and a few wallets and other small items. The video you show looks bigger, I think it was for the Messenger 250. Other videos were also misleading. I returned it for the larger, 250 Lowepro, and am much happier. It can also carry an iPad or 13 X 8 folder. One thing I don't like about all of these models, NO ZIPPER to close it!

Great Bag…Easy Access…Well Protected…Secure Closure

By Scott

Comments about Event Messenger 150 Shoulder Bag (Mica):

I chose this bag for my Fuji mirrorless system without consideration of price. While I was willing to spend much more for a good bag, I found the combination of space, size, and convenience overwhelmingly in favor of the Messenger 150. Padding is what you might expect from Lowepro…good enough to protect the camera under reasonable stress. But the two features I needed most were ease of access of the equipment in opening the bag, and closure that really contained the system. This bag is strong on both accounts. I love that it has both Velcro and a latch…nothing can get out if the bag tips. The side pocket is well-designed for extra batteries, memory cards, and other small items. The Messenger 150 easily accomodates a body, zoom, and two primes. But other configurations would work well too. If you need to slog around a lot of equipment as working pro or serious hobbyist, this bag will be too small. But if you are a minimalist at heart that needs good system protection, ease of access, and the feeling that your camera and lenses are secure and won't fall out, this bag is awesome. You can spend more money…a lot more…but the returns are diminishing.

Awesome with some flaws

By Jon

Comments about Event Messenger 150 Shoulder Bag (Mica):

I bought this mainly for travel as I don't want to carry my backpack while walking around the city. My Sony A7 with battery grip is a bit tight, with FE 55mm lens attached to the body. I can also fit 2 more lenses nicely. The small compartment is a good space for batteries and memory cards as well as triggers and whatnots. My only complain is the strap. It cuts through my shirt and skin, creating discomfort, although I remedied this with adding some paddings.

Great Buy

Comments about Event Messenger 150 Shoulder Bag (Mica):

I bought this because I needed a bag that was a little higher and wider than my Think Tank Retrospective 5 for a trip I was taking. This is a quality, lightweight, bag and well made. I carry my wallet and cell phone in the front pocket. It has expandable pockets on each end of the bag. I can carry my camera with lens and have room for 2 or more lens on each side depending on how long they are. The Retrospective 5 is a great bag but comparing its cost of $150 to this bag which is $35 I wouldn't buy it again as this bag meets my needs. A great value.

Perfect EDC bag

Comments about Event Messenger 150 Shoulder Bag (Mica):

I use this as my every day carry bag. I keep a full frame D700, a 50mm, a 105mm, a flash, a ttl cord, and I still have enough room for a third lens. The bag is built for rugged use, and has a great feature where you can "silence" the Velcro closures.

Class photo bag

Comments about Event Messenger 150 Shoulder Bag (Black):

This is a top-notch, classy-looking shoulder photo bag. Good protective features for DSLR camera and additional lens. A number of pockets and crannies that provide safe space for other items. My only issue is that it was a bit smaller than I expected, but that could be my vision of the measurements.

A travel bag

By Jozi

from Brooklyn, NY

Comments about Event Messenger 150 Shoulder Bag (Mica):

I just returned from a week in Iceland. I purchased the bag wanting one that was water resistant and light weight but held enough gear for the trip. It worked trekking up waterfalls and glaciers as well as in the quiet strolls of the city. This bag fit the bill, often with room to spare.

Excellent Carry-on Bag

Comments about Event Messenger 150 Shoulder Bag (Mica):

I probably own thirty bags, satchels, camera bags, etc. I'm always searching for the perfect size for every job. This one turns out to be just squat enough to stand up under an airline seat, and leave plenty of leg room on the side, so it's my new go-to carry-on bag. The interior sleeve is the right size for my 9.7" iPad, the bag is well constructed, the dividers do the job, and there's no wasted space.

I use this bag for weddings. I have my main bag and I will swap out lenses to put in this bag for each part of the wedding. It's a perfect size for 3 lenses (body on 1) or 2 lenses and a flash. Great side compartments for phone and keys. Front pocket is perfect for batteries, memory cards, etc. I love the silent option for the velcro closure. This bag makes every wedding day so much for efficient!

Great bag for a mirrorless system, but I fight with it constantly because it won't stay on my shoulder. The strap is too stiff and doesn't mould to the shoulder. I will need to replace it unfortunately.

Fits my dlsr, batteries, an extra lense along with pockets for credit cards and other things you don't leave the house without. It doesn't look like a camera bag, so when visiting New York City, no attention is drawn to the fact that you have thousands of dollars of equipment in it. Easy and comfortable to carry.

I have two camera bags, a backpack when I need to carry a lot of equipment and now the Lowepro Event Messenger 150 Shoulder Bag. The quality is excellent and allows me to carry a scaled-down amount of lenses and equipment for smaller requirements. Also, there are all kinds of pockets everywhere for lots of storage options. And no, I don't work for Lowepro.

This is a perfect size walkabout bag for Nikon D7100 with 18-200 zoom and SB900 Speedlight or the 105 micro. Not sure if a longer lens will fit and allow the cover to close properly. The bag is durable and well padded.
