I did a lot of searching for drives and found this one. I've seen burst speeds of 711 and 400MB/s. Most transfers are 100-200MB/s. Created a 3.8GB ISO boot drive in about 1 minute. I've seen reviews of other drive after buying this with claimed speeds of 300-400MB/s, but they aren't really that fast in the real world. You have to get a USB SSD, but only 3.0 supports those speeds and TRIM. Most have old PCs with 2.0 ports, so using them is pointless and they're overpriced. I've been using computers since the Mac, and 486DX33 running my BBS with Fidonet. I know the speed claims manufacturers like to make are mostly lies.

I bought one from here after seeing them linked from the SanDisk site, and one from Newegg. The Newegg seller is a scammer from China selling counterfeit products. I don't trust Newegg anymore. I ordered a 2nd drive from here to replace the fake one from Newegg.

was working fine for exactly 2 months - yesterday slowed down and finally stopped transfering few files total of about 5gb - tried to reformat it ,slow and fast format but still will not transfer anything ,tried on 4 different computers - nothing ! also like somebody else mentioned interfeeres with other usb ports especially if another drive is connected (mechanical hard drive ) so it might be not enough power for both ,i guess?
the worst part is i used it maybe twice a week and other flash drive i have - 8GB sandisk is about 4 years old and its working perfect (just slower obviously)

Comments about SanDisk 64GB Extreme USB 3.0 Flash Drive:

A great flash drive. I'm on my third unit, and two of them have worked very hard and are working as they did new about 1,5 years ago.

The newest one has revised firmware with additional SMART indicators. Old has 13, new has 15. Both seem to behave similar though.

The drives all get quite warm when used intensively. Write speeds can be inconsistent, but they are mostly around 240 Read and 150-185 MB/sec Write.

I've experienced a rare unresponsive device; The copying to or from the device would just grind to a crawl or stop completely mid copy... this required the removal and reinsertion of the USB device. But this happened only 2 or 3 times across over a year of usage, and there was no data lost. This freezing might be a OSX driver issue, I'm not sure. The OSX Finder has a proven track record for doing weird stuff.

I use one for a boot drive and USB installer for OS Sierra and El Cap.

For the price it's excellent.

Comments about SanDisk 64GB Extreme USB 3.0 Flash Drive:

I think it is too soon to write about the use of this Sandisk 64GB . I only used it once to save some data.
I will SURELY write a review if any incident will eventually happen so as to help the engineering department of Sandisk resolve the problem.

But so far so good.

Comments about SanDisk 64GB Extreme USB 3.0 Flash Drive:

I bought this to make a clone of my new hard drive installed on my new computer. Wanted to have something that was fast and large enough to back up new system before I started tweaking it and possibly messing something up. I booted from it and it worked. Just what I wanted. B&H sent in a timely fashion too. I may get another one just for additional files/backups since this one is going into storage. I won't be using it since it is just for emergencies (computer/hard drive crashes, etc.)

Comments about SanDisk 64GB Extreme USB 3.0 Flash Drive:

This is a great USB 3.0 flash drive that maximizes the speed advantages of USB 3.0. I've been using these drives for several years and this one I just purchased is the fastest one yet, for large files as well as small files. There are smaller drives but none better or more reliable.

Item was defective - would not format, erase or partition. B&H is in the process of exchanging it. I don't know if this is a fluke or a common problem. I've never had problems with Sandisk products before.

Comments about SanDisk 64GB Extreme USB 3.0 Flash Drive:

Purchased this replace a pokey USB 3.0 flash drive from a different brand. Construction, while plasticky, is sturdy. There is no cap to lose, but the slider is a little hard to push back and forth.

Please note that enabling encryption will slow its write speeds. As such, even the flash drive's encrypted speed is a lot faster than the previous ones I had.
