Watson batteries look cheap on the exterior (compared with Canon batteries), do not slide so easily into the battery compartment of my EOS M camera but they work fine otherwise. Third party batteries are cheap for a reason: the quality control is not great and one of the two batteries I ordered arrived completely discharged (the battery must arrive 50…60% charged - one or two bars). After charging, this battery didn't last more than few shots - the capacity of the battery was very low. The other battery seems to be as good as the original and it doesn't show signs of fatigue yet.B&H was great in replacing the bad battery - excellent customer support! In conclusion, assuming the bad battery was just an unfortunate incident, Watson LP-E12 replacement seems to be a decent choice for a Canon EOS M camera (I recommend 3…4 batteries especially when traveling).

Charges just fine in the Canon charger. Seems to last about as long as the Canon battery.

It's just ever so slightly larger than the stock battery, making it difficult to get it out of the battery compartment.

Overall a good buy If your looking to save some money.

Comments about Watson LP-E12 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack (7.4V, 800mAh):

I have had good experience with Watson rechargeable batteries in the past so when I wanted a spare for my camera the price was right and the choice was obvious. The battery charged in the charger that came with my camera and is ready to go.

Comments about Watson LP-E12 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack (7.4V, 800mAh):

These batteries are fine for about the first year, but then begin to bulge in the middle, and become jammed in the camera. We have several of these, and all seem to have this weakness after continued use. I've been able to remove them with small pliers, but out on a job it could cause a problem. As they are inexpensive, I'd say go ahead and buy them, just be ready to discard them if you notice this problem

Comments about Watson LP-E12 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack (7.4V, 800mAh):

The replacement battery fits a little tighter in the camera (Canon SL1) than the factory batter, but seems to work fine. No complaints so far. It's a far cheaper alternative than the factory battery. I haven't done a comparison on battery life so far, the Canon has very short life shooting video, using the camera's autofocus function, so I am hoping for better life.

Comments about Watson LP-E12 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack (7.4V, 800mAh):

I bought this battery as a back up to the normal Canon battery, the LP-E12. I have used it through on cycle, about 500 pictures. The Watson lasted as long as the Canon. I am satisfied with this product.

      Comments about Watson LP-E12 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack (7.4V, 800mAh):

It lasted for 2 years (almost exactly) which is not too bad I guess. I've used this Watson battery interchangeably with the Canon branded one and unfortunately the Watson died first. Now it charges for only a few minutes before the charger says it is full and then it only lasts a few minutes in the camera before running out of juice.

      Swelled, stuck in camera

      By SL

      Comments about Watson LP-E12 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack (7.4V, 800mAh):

This battery worked great for a year and a half. Then one day after charging it recently the camera wouldn't power on. When I went to swap it out with my Canon battery it was stuck inside the camera! Luckily we were able to pry it out with no damage to my SL1. The Watson had swelled, bulging in the middle. I'll suck it up and pay for the official ones from now on.
