I needed to add more ports for my desktop. The ports showed up immediately once I loaded the drivers. But I keep getting a message that says my drive can work faster if I use different ports. Not sure why that is, because these are the fastest ports I have in my PC.

Comments about SIIG 4-Port USB 3.0 SuperSpeed PCIe Adapter Card:

I knew that I would not get the full 500MBps since I was putting it in a PCIe 1.0a slot which is only 2.5gbits rather than the 5gbits a PCIe 2.0 slot has. What I do get is a max of 125MB per pair of USB3 ports. So I can have 2 ports (1 from each bank) doing a max of 125MB each because it is splitting the 250MB max of PCIe 1.0a in half. I can have drives pluged into all 4 ports at once but if both drives on a pair of USB3 port are being used it slows down to max of 62MB max each. I am just happy it work in such an old PCIe slot.

Product was a dud out of the box. Card was not recognized by system (Windows 7 64 bit), even though powered and different expansion slots tried. SIIG technical support was not much help. Kudos to B&H for their easy return system. I will be trying someone elses expansion card.

Comments about SIIG 4-Port USB 3.0 SuperSpeed PCIe Adapter Card:

I added this adapter card to my ~4 y/o HP desktop to gain USB 3.0 capability. I found it easy to install and also purchased with it and installed a StarTech 4 Pin Molex to SATA Power Cable Adapter (6") from B+H, although not necessary to run my two USB 3.0 external hard drives. But for $ why not get the power cable in the event you need to power a device that needs the extra juice? I have not tested any actual transfer speeds; however, I do notice a much, much faster transfer rate when I back up the data on my computer's C: drive to the external hard drives. I also intend to use another of the card's USB 3.0 ports to attach a USB 3.0 SDXC/CF card reader. Instructions for installation of the driver on the accompanying CD was easy.

Easy to install. Works well with my USB 3.0 card reader and USB 3.0 external drive. Both are noticeably faster than the USB 2.0 interfaces that came with my computer.

I bought this for my new Dell XPS 8700. I worked immediately, and I did not have to install software. When I first plugged items into the ports, there was some lack of connection, but all is well now (must have had some dust in there).NOTE: I tried a different 3.0 card on my older Dell XPS 8000 (which did not have 3.0 USB ports), and it did not work. I assume your computer must be able to handle USB 3.0 for these cards to work.
