I just got this lens and use it on a Panasonic G2 body. The lens is a great size, mounts firmly and nicely to the body, and has fast and silent focusing. The lens includes a case, hood, rear cap and convenient pinch front cap that is easy to install and remove even with the hood in place. The hood mounts firmly with a click both in shooting and travel (reverse) positions.

The lens has a slight rattle that is normal. Some have mentioned they wish this lens was faster (like f/2.0), but I find this lens has a nice shallow DOF and smooth bokeh wide open.

The lens features a wide, smooth manual focus ring that works great and won't age and become ugly over time.

The only thing I wish is that Sigma had provided a case that was smaller and custom-sized to fit the lens, instead of a case that is larger than needed.

This is a good medium tele lens for the price, reasonably fast reasonable AF performance. All around average and reasonable.

I replaced it with the Olympus 60mm macro, they both do the same, but the overall quality of the macro lens is higher and it adds macro capability... If you are on a shoestring budget, this is a great lens.

Delivers great Image Quality that does not disappoint

Comments about 60mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Micro Four Thirds Mount Cameras (Black):

I hesitated before buying this 60mm F 2.8 Sigma as I have a copy of the Olympus 50mm F 2. However, the price looked too good to miss so I went ahead with the purchase. The Oly 50 / 2 is a spectacular lens with superb IQ that excels at portraits, macros and generally - this Sigma at F 2.8 wide open is not quite as fast but delivers IQ that seems to be on a par with the Oly - possibly the Sigma is a tad sharper. The Sigma's close-focusing distance is greater (the Oly is a macro) but concerns about focal length overlap between the two lenses doesn't seem that relevant. I shoot both on an EM-1. The Sigma auto-focuses faster than the Oly. There's space in my camera bag for both.

Excellent image quality, but

Comments about 60mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Micro Four Thirds Mount Cameras (Black):

This lens will give you excellent image quality from wide open to around f11. You won't see any difference from f2.8 to 5.6 except for the depth of field and bokeh. The only weak point of this lens is it sometimes hunts for focus in low light. It's just not up to the same level as some other primes that I have. The Sigma C 30mm f1.4 DC DN focuses slightly faster and is able to lock focus even in very low light, most likely because it is 2 stops faster. And the Sigma 30mm f1.4 is an outstanding lens. The rattle in the Sigma A 60mm lens is normal when your camera is powered down or not attached to the camera. It's the floating focusing element in the lens. It functions magnetically, it's not a problem with the lens. I didn't find the smooth focusing ring a problem, I just think I would have liked some kind of texture to it. It focuses silently and accurately and has excellent build quality. Purple fringing is basically non-existent. It is a focus by wire lens, so there are no definitive stops at either end. But considering the low price Sigma asks for this lens, it's a no brainer if you require this focal length. Highly recommended.

Note: the photo of the walnut leaf below is a substantial crop from the original and I attached a Canon 250D close up filter to the lens. The entire length of the leaf (about 3 1/2") filled the frame.

Sharp and fast

Comments about 60mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Micro Four Thirds Mount Cameras (Black):

Great lens for portraiture and compressing the background. Speed really helps in marginal light situations. Very happy with the clarity of the glass and contrast. I'd recommend this Signa lens as an add on prime lens for street and portrait photography. With the Micro 4/3 format this is equivalent to a 120mm lens.

Comments about 60mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Micro Four Thirds Mount Cameras (Black):

I like this lens. I haven't really used it enough to formulate an opinon of the Bokeh vs my Canon EF Zoom in this range. I don't like the clanking sound when motor is not engaged (Noted in many reviews). It feels a bit cheap, but I expect it to last for my use. I purchased this lens to test the Micro 4/3rd Panasonic G7 I bought for it's video features. I wanted to make sure I liked the quality of the camera/sensor befor I pulled the trigger on the Panasonic f2.8 35-100mm

Comments about 60mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Micro Four Thirds Mount Cameras (Black):

I bought he lens to use on my E-M5 as a faster alternative to the Oly 40-150 kit lens. My main conclusion is that I like wider lenses better, except for those rare occasions when I want something a good deal longer. Nevertheless, I am keeping this because it forces me to see things differently when I take it on a walk. It rattles when you shake it like the other Sigma primes, but takes nice pictures, also like the other Sigmas. At the price, it is a good value for my infrequent use.

This lens is a great one I have it on my GH4 and it hasn't failed me at all. The 2.8 aperture works very well, the auto focus is silent and extremely fast. Very shallow depth of field. I absolutely love this lens.

      My new favorite lens!

Comments about 60mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Micro Four Thirds Mount Cameras (Black):

This lens covers almost all of my photography. I like shooting faces and narrow street close ups being far enough away to not be problematic in the eyes of or to change the natural expression of my subject. Sigma Art does it so well. A 2.8 lens is bright enough for me, even in dim light. The view on my Olympus is stunning. The fotos are accurate and clean (even increasing the ISO as far as 3200) up to 16X20, although I like some at 20X20 in the square format. I rarely crop nor do I need more than a tweak in post production, usually increasing contrast. Black and white or full color - what I see, I get. Best money I've spent on a lens. I do use the Olympus 45mm f1.8 for larger images, but the Sigma doesn't miss any detail when doing a comparison.

Light, quick focusing and crisp. This lens freezes candids in my camera as it remains frozen on my camera. It is my favorite lens. Capturing candids and sports shots of runners, it has exceeded my expectations. Fast focusing and inobtrusive it carves faces out of groups with its bokeh. 2.8 is certainly useable. Buy this product. It's remorse-proof.

I tried Sigma in the 1980's, and they had serious quality issues. I am happy to say, they are working hard with their "Art series." I don't know how long this lens will keep working, but so far, it is great. (the clunking noise you hear is normal, and it stops when the camera is turned on.)

I used Sigma lenses from the 80's on Nikon cameras and always liked them. the price was reasonable and the performance very good. this lens is amazing! for the price you get a very sharp, fast focus, F2.8 lens including the cups, lens hood (not the best but OK) and a bag (some like some don't i do).i use it with the Pana GX7 and although there's no IS i still manage to get very good shots at low shutter speed handheld. the 60 (120) is a lens i like to shoot at. gives you that medium range so you can get a bit of distance from your subject. and again price / value is IMO unbeatable yet.

This is a useful lens for me, joining my my first two M43 lenses -- the M.Zuiko 12-40mm PRO and the M.Zuiko 75-300mm, so it was also a much cheaper purchase. The Sigma 60mm falls in a useful range, reaching a bit further than the 12-40mm while being much smaller and lighter, yet about as sharp. It's noticeably sharper than the 75-300mm, while having a faster f/2.8 aperture. The colors come out a bit more saturated than the zooms though still true to life. As others have noted, the lens tends to clack about when the camera is off. This effect is reduced if I hold the camera with the lens pointing up. While I accept this is harmless, it is still annoying.I'm still learning to use the Sigma but very pleased so far.
