This lens is razor sharp wide open, with lovely OOF characteristics, or what the experts on the net refer to as "bokeh".

Like the 19/2.8 and the 30/2.8 Sigmas for the E mount, this lens is destined for cult status—an accolade made even more amazing considering its truly inexpensive cost.

These three lenses are the basic kit for all NEX owners, I feel. AF is fast; MF aids on the NEX 6 in particular allow you to focus accurately on a sitter's iris, and be certain you have nailed focus.

My only reservation is the new shiny finish of the focussing barrel; I prefer a bit more grip, but I will get used to it.

I returned this lens due to really loud noise emitted when normally handling the lens. It was as if there was something metallic inside the lens totally loose.

Before returning, I mounted it on my Nex-6 and took 2-3 pictures. When mounted, the lens was much more quiet and the quality of the images appeared OK. There was still some noise though, and I assume this would be picked up if one was shooting movies.

Too bad, as it is light, small, and appears well made.

Comments about 60mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Black):

I bought this for my Sony a6300. I was skeptical of the glowing reviews, as my Sigma 30 isn't as sharp as I would hope, but.... This lens is very, very sharp corner to corner, optimum at f/5.6. I shot with the camera tripod-mounted at ISO 100, and triggered the Sony with the Sony IR remote, 2-second delay. I examined all my test images (a "flat wall" of trees at 90') in Lightroom 6, MacBook 13.3" Retina screen, magnified to 1:1 and to 2:1. At 1:1, where the image size is about at what a 16x24" print would be, it is outstanding. Not bad at all at 2:1. Having been a landscape photographer with 4x5, I am indeed a pixel-peeper. I'm more than "peeped" with this lens.

Comments about 60mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Black):

I come from Nikon full frame Nikon Df- still love it and all the D and AIS lenses that go with it, never wanted a video capability but had plenty of investment in the Nikon system. Up until last year the lugging around did not hurt but now the hand tingles and you can feel the load. So I was looking for an alternate cheaper system that I could use my Nikon lenses with that would be small and light- FUJI XT2 was as costly and I was never a Sony fanboy .Somehow, while reading the reviews of FFUJI XT2 , I ended up watching a review of Sony A6000(being compared with A63K and A65K)- I wasn't impressed with the price of either but A6000 with manual focus and cheap adapters for my Nikon D and AIS lenses this was a very good bargain.
The kit lens is not bad and Tokina 100mm Nikon mount with adapter and Rokinon 85mm 1.4 are both brilliant with manual focus.
The ease of use of this sigma lens makes me pick this one first all the time and only when I am fed up with the 90mm portraits that I move onto Tokina or Rokinon.
The problem with manual focus is that the family or amateur person can't hold the pose for too long, so you need to focus and shoot quickly. Sigma 60 mm helps .

I do what I wrote in the title, whenever a Zeiss lens reviewer tempts me, I come here and read all the good the things about Sigma Sixty here.
The clunkiness is the only downside till you switch on the camera. After that it is pure pleasure.

It is small, relatively and doesn't jut out, stays within its limits, gives you nice portraits. The eye AF and face recognition work with A6000(AFA and AFS). DMF and MF works as well.

The on-camera flash is not blocked by it's size as with other lens with adapter etc. The set is light and I throw in a Godox TT350s for HSS and it is more than enough.

Comments about 60mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Black):

I used it mainly for portrait photos. This is a great lens. Very sharp and excellent bokeh. The only issue I am having is that the autofocus is slow. If your model is fast moving poser, you are in for trouble. So taking a star off to an otherwise perfect lens for my a5000.

Comments about 60mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Black):

Most bang for your buck lens. Sharp across the field, corner to corner. Used on my A6500 for lightweight travel along with the other two Sigma Art primes. All three outperform any other affordable prime lenses on the market.

Sigma 60/2.8 Rules on the a6300!

Comments about 60mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Black):

How do say this the best lens I've ever owned? From wide open it is sharper than any lens I own. And it has almost a full set of usable apertures. Nothing I've used has done so much for so little.

It will be the long end of my Sigma Art Trio for hiking/street shooting. Quiet enough for video, lightweight but somewhat fragile too, quick /AF works with all the a6300's features. Unless you hate primes, this lens beats many optics far more costly and yet still underperform. Kudos, Sigma!

Recently purchased, permanently on the Sony A6000, as mainly take wildlife and low light shots while in Florida.
Very pleased with results, which give me ample room to retouch.
Looking forward to taking family portraits upon returning to Canada

When I purchased a Sony E-mount camera for my son, I was initially disappointed with its performance. Then after a little research, I found this lens and it's like a new camera. That focusing is fast and the images are super sharp.

I was completely new to photography and I bought this lens along with the a6000. Super quick auto-focus. I love using eye auto-focus for portraits. 26mm extension tubes make macro-ish photos possible. Everything comes out super sharp.

Comments about 60mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Black):

I have the Sigma 30mm and now this 60mm. They're both well-built, sharp lenses, even wide open.

The 60 combined with the A6000 (or later version) makes for a tidy, powerful package.

Love using this and other primes on my a6000

Comments about 60mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Black):

As I do have other dslr and mtitude of lenses Ivan not prepared to duplicate a similar sekection on a6000. Small, light high quality and value are what I wanted for walk around lenses on that Sony. The Sigma 69 fits that description. Although it is a f. 2.8 max.,the a6000 takes well to high ISO do don't hesitate to go higher enough ISO with a high shutter as the Sima is not stabilized. Imagine how great the generally very well reviewed Sigma E-mount 19. 30 and 60 will be with upcoming a6500 with in body stabilization!

Great lens. Sharp photos on my Sony a6000.
It does make some clunking noise when walking about with it and powered off but I believe that is normal.

I bought this lens for travel on my Sony alpha 6000. It is fast and sharp with minimal falloff in the corners. The colors are excellent. The raw shots show very little improvement with editing. It does a better job than many lenses that cost 4x more. Proof that you cant beat a fixed lens.

ATTACHED TO MY SONY A6000, I COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED. GREAT SHARPNESS AND COLOR FEDELITY. IT's GREATEST STRENGTH IS IN PORTRAITURE BUT IT IS SO SHARP, IT CAN BE USED FOR DISTANCE IMAGES. JUST IMAGINE YOU ARE 100 FEET FROM A HORSE. TAKE THE PHOTO AND CROP THE IMAGE ON THE COMPTER. BECAUSE OF THE SHARPNESS OF THE LENS AND THE APSC SENSOR ON THE A6000 AND 24 MP's, THE CROPPED IMAGE HOLD OF BEAUTIFULLY.

Comments about 60mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Black):

I use it with the a6000 kit lens for walking around on vacation. Lens is incredibly sharp and adequately fast. I am waiting for the Sigma f/1.4 30mm so I can retire the kit lens. Only gripe is that the manual focus ring is sometimes hard to turn - don't know if this is a common problem on the 60.
