A few months ago I bought a Sony A6000 with the kit lens (16-50mm) from B&H. Primarily for street photography, the camera is excellent for my purposes, but I was not completely happy with the kit lens. I read a few reviews about the Sigma 19mm, watched some videos about it on YouTube, and, since the price was so low, I decided that I couldn't pass it up.The sharpness of my photos, even at f2.8, is amazing! It compares favorably to the Nikon lenses on my D610. I bought the Sony for a backup camera to the D610, but, with the new Sigma lens, I'm finding that I carry the Sony around as much or more than the Nikon. They're both terrific cameras, but, if you're into street photography, you won't find a better lens.

The lens was sharp and produced great images on my Sony a6000, but it kept loosing connection with the camera. I then would have to disconnect the lens with the camera turned on and reconnect it. After the third time (and three photos that I missed) I decided to return it and order the Sony 20mm f2.8.

Very Sharp lens, fast autofocus and small for streetphotogra

Comments about 19mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Black):

I have been sharing great images from the Sigma Art 19 mm with my photography friends showing the sharp images from this lens on the Sony A6000 shot under good lighting and at night, One image was shot at F3.2 handheld at iso 800 and was so surprised to see deep DoF for this large aperture opening. Three of my friends so far have also purchased this lens based on my sample images.

Great Pickup!

By Chris

Comments about 19mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Black):

I purchased this lens, along with the Sigma 30mm f/2.8 DN (Sony E-Mount), and was actually very impressed with the quality of it. I'm using this lens in the Sony a6000 and between the 2 sometimes I can't pick which one I want to leave out the house with and experiment with for the day. The lens actually produces some very crisp and clear photos. The center is also very sharp wide open. I'm not saying the corners aren't sharp, but they're not dull either. It produces a nice photo all around. I'd definitely reccomend adding this lens to your repertoire. You can't beat it for the price.

Very Pleased With Results

By PixelPaula

Comments about 19mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Black):

I purchased this lens to use in low-light environments where flash and tripods are not allowed. I tested it out at the Toledo Museum of Art. A special exhibit by sculpture Jaume Plensa was perfect for this test. This artist has given permission to photograph his works. The sculptures were strategically lit and the result was an almost sepia-toned environment. His sculptures incorporate many typefaces and I was pleased the Sigma lens, mounted on a Sony A6300, auto-focused quickly and accurately. It was a joy to work with and the results were excellent. The attached photos required almost no post-processing, just what was needed to convert them from raw to jpeg.

I also used this lens outside and appreciated using the wide-open aperture to blur distracting backgrounds elements behind some of the outdoor works.

This lens will stay in my bag.

Great lens for group shots

Comments about 19mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Black):

I currently use the Sony FE 50mm f/1.8 Lens for portrait shots but needed something with a reasonable aperture and wider angle for indoor group/event shots without using a flash. I took this lens to a recent anniversary celebration and took well over 200 photos. I was very pleased with the overall quality of the photos and focusing of the lens. For the cost, I am very happy with this lens and it is a nice match in terms of appearance with the Sony A6000. The rattling sound that people of mentioned with the lens if not powered up for use is not an issue for me.

I love this high quality/price 19mm f/2.8 lens also my 60mm f2.8 as well. I couldn't leave home with them in my small kit.
No problem at all with "clunk sound". That sound disappeared as soon the contact is on.

Comments about 19mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Black):

I was apprehensive about buying a Sigma lens. I figured how good could this be at this price? The answer is very good indeed. This is comparable to my Leica lenses at a fraction of the price. The build quality may not be as good put for this price you can buy 10 of these for the price of a Leica lens. For the price you can't go wrong.

This is my walk-around lens. Image quality, sharpness
and contrast are excellent. Fast focus and f/2.8
aperture make it great for street photos. This is a must buy for a Sony A6000. I hope they make
    24mm and a 14mm soon.

Comments about 19mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Black):

I bought this lens for my sony A6000 camera. It seems that the phase detection AF is not working but the af speed is satisfying, especially for such a wide lens that do not require a high speed.

The weight is its most advantage. 150g is quite light and is easy to carry around. F2.8 is a relatively large aperture and can deal with all kinds of environment. The center of the field is really sharp from F2.8, which is the open open aperture. At F8, the lens can produce really high resolution and is perfect for landscapes.

The price is pretty reasonable for such performance. The only drawback maybe that this is a fixed prime lens.

Comments about 19mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Black):

The 19mm f/2.8 DN Lens by Sigma has proven to be an outstanding walk around lens. When used with the Sony Alpha 6000, the resulting phots are sufficiently sharp to allow 100% crop. Therefore the lens provides performance from wide angle to normal. Is very unobtrusive when mounted on the A6000. While faster lenses are available, the f/2.8 is a good compromise between fast performance and small size.

This is my 60th year of film-making. My mind is sharp, but the body fails every now and then. Thank Heavens for the Sigma 19mm lens for my new Sony FS100 camera. The lens is also sharp, and light-weight. It allows me to do hand-held work effortlessly. And the 2.8 aperture is great for indoor work. Thanks, Sigma.

I've used this product primarily for photographing people in well-lit areas. This has replaced my 16-50mm kit lens for my a6000 since I was not satisfied with the higher zoom ranges anyways.

I've only used this lens on one sunny day, so I have yet to unlock its full potential. So far, I intend on keeping this lens.

Comments about 19mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Black):

I was in Washington DC. on a symposium and used this lens for indoor & outdoor photos of capital hill offices and architecture, Monuments, and churches on my down time, and it worked best in class. Better than the Sony10-18mm f/4 OSSor Sony16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS as all the shots where extremely sharp and detailed, including the panorama shots that previously where completely unusable with the lenses above. Let me define unusable, the other two lenses make a blurry panorama with minimal detail and very little sharpness. While the sigma makes very sharp panorama and they have loads of detail even in low light indoor situations.

This lens is a decently sharp, light, compact 28mm equivalent lens for the Sony e-mount system. In terms of optical quality, for wider than 35mm e-mount lenses, nothing compares for anything near the price.

Although this 19mm lens is less expensive it works great on my Sony a6000. Not only does it get great reviews, but it functions better than the 20mm produced by Sony. Yes, it may not be as solid as a Sony lens, but I prefer the lighter weight. I am totally pleased with the results. See my attached sample and I'm sure you will agree.

I'm a beginner/amateur photographer mostly taking photos of my children, family, and places we travel to. I purchased the silver lens and it did scratch on the first day with only minimal use. When I opened the package it sounded as if there was a loose part inside (as also noted by many others upon my internet research), and also after it was mounted on camera. It functions perfectly though as far as I can see. Only time will tell how durable the contruction is. Great, sharp photos; fast focus. I would recommend this as an affordable lens option for the Sony a6000.
