I can only say great things about it. It just gives me comfort and balanced while I shoot anything. It provides me perfect stability and rigidity which allows me to focus comfortably and eliminate the shaking of my hands-achieves a excellent handheld grip! The best part when u can switch the compartment to AA Batteries. Good for travelling to the beach, desert, the mountains, when your rechargeable Li-ion battery ran out of power. And AA batteries are cheaper to use and economical and still takes good pictures. [*]

I have owned grips on every camera I have ever owned dating back to film. Most recently this includes a D200, D7000 and now a D7200. Prior to the MB-D15, grips ran in the $150 range. This one is quite a bit more. So what do you get for its asking price? You get a place to put a 2nd battery, a 2nd set of controls for vertical (portrait) orientation and a better overall grip on the camera (read that, a place for your right pinky). These are all good things. Anyone thinking of buying one should have already realized it only holds one battery. Non issue for me.

What is unforgiveable is that even with an improved tensioning system, the right side of the grip moves against the body of the camera when using it. On a tripod, any instability between the camera and the mounting onto the tripod head can (and probably will) introduce vibration. For the price they charge - unforgiveable. This is virtually the same grip as the one for the D7000 but costs almost $100 more. And for what? They are both made of magnesium alloy and feature the exact same set of additional controls.

Outside of the perceived looseness on the right of the camera and the price, this is a 5-star product. But as it is, it's too expensive for anything less than a perfect and unmovable fit. It's nice and I will keep it but I'm disappointed. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for more of a hand grip to their D7100 or D7200 and is willing to accept the additional weight. I wouldn't recommend it if you're into macro or general tripod-use photography. It will hurt your images.

Another excellent Nikon product

Comments about Nikon MB-D15 Multi Battery Power Pack:

This multi battery power pack is great, very comfortable especially when holding the camera vertical. It is a high quality product, after reading several online reviews I elected to go ahead and pay the extra money for the Nikon pack. I can't see why anyone would have a high dollar camera investment and then buy the aftermarket power pack!

Comments about Nikon MB-D15 Multi Battery Power Pack:

So far the Nikon battery grip seems to be fine. The button location in the vertical orientation feels a little different than the standard horizontal. So I find myself looking instead of just putting my fingers on them, but this is to be expected. I bought this to help with vertical shots. It is less awkward and easier. Score!
Due to the overall size of the. D7200, the battery grip can only hold one battery in the tray. So you will have to remove the grip to remove and charge the 2nd battery. It is a pain, but still the same for all of them for this camera.
The biggest change is that I normally shoot with a Spider hand strap, and I had to remove it. It will work for horizontal shots but will be in the way for vertical. Oh well, win some, lose some.
It does make the whole camera bigger and now my getting too small bag is way too tight.

Great grip for the D7200. Carries over the multi function, scroll wheels and AE-L/AF-L lock too. A godsend if you shoot a lot with the camera rotated 90 degrees

how did we get by without them

Comments about Nikon MB-D15 Multi Battery Power Pack:

this is my third dx format nikon dslr starting with the d-300 and my current d-7000 & D-7100. in every case the battery grip is an asset in the improvement of handling the camera especially in the case of long lenses, lenses not equipt with vibration reduction and when shooting extensively in portrait format. the grip also provides an invaluable advantage in power management without having to purchase additional dedicated camera batteries. the grips for each of these cameras allow for the use of widely available AA cells when the camera batteries themselves are exhausted. most operational camera controls, shutter release, command dials, ae/af lock etc. are duplicated on the grip. I couldn't live without one.

This is a must have grip!!!!

Comments about Nikon MB-D15 Multi Battery Power Pack:

Ok guys we all know the authentic Nikon grip for the D7100-7200 is super expensive, but it is so utterly fantastic!!!!! Nothing fits like it nothing works like it. Don't buy the cheaper knock off grips! They are all junk compared to this. Just buy it and cry once you won't regret it!! I can't say enough great things about this grip. It says multi battery because it will use one EN-EL15 or a tray of AA batteries with the supplied adapter tray. The grip is magnesium ,plastic and rubber. It is spot on perfect! You will not regret this purchase once you put it on and grip it. It is the best for a reason!

Comments about Nikon MB-D15 Multi Battery Power Pack:

This is the only way to take vertical for hours on end. Ergonomically right on and balanced. The extra battery is usually just an afterthought for me, but greatly appreciated and often utilized.

Comments about Nikon MB-D15 Multi Battery Power Pack:

Bought this to add to my 7100 body. It is to primarily balance the weight of using a heavy lens. I was hesitant on buying the cheaper brand although it was tempting. Nikon obviously makes a boat load of money on this mostly plastic piece.....but it was a must have.

The MB-D15, use it !!`

Comments about Nikon MB-D15 Multi Battery Power Pack:

Being the proud owner of a Nikon F5 that I am still using on a regular basis, I naturally added a battery grip to my D300 a few years ago. It gave me the added grip I needed.(I find the grips of the DSLR's generally too short). So when I moved to the D7200 8 years later, I felt the need for the MB-D15, more so because the grip of the 7200 is smaller than the 300"s. The fact that I needed the additional capacity provided by the second power source had me ordering the MB-D15 ASAP: I use RAW+ JPEG large I know that some independent firms are selling Battery Packs, but I do not trust them. I have used the Nikon brand so far w/o a glitch!

Comments about Nikon MB-D15 Multi Battery Power Pack:

I bought this for the improved flexibility shooting and the extra battery. The additional ability of using AA batteries was a must for me. There will be that horrible moment when both batteries are weak and no place to charge them. Carrying AA batteries helps greatly and can be gotten anywhere if needed. The pack is well made and i would not trust an off brand.

Comments about Nikon MB-D15 Multi Battery Power Pack:

I absolutely love using this product with my D7100. I am a portrait photographer so almost all of my pictures are in the vertical position, and this product makes taking photos so much easier. Plus, the extra battery and AA tray always helps me not change batteries during a shoot.

Comments about Nikon MB-D15 Multi Battery Power Pack:

The MB-D15 is a great addition to a wonderful D7200 camera. The fact that you have a choice of two battery types is more exciting. The regular EN-EL15 Nikon battery or six less expensive AA batteries and you can replace the battery packs in the MB-D15 without removing it from the camera. Looks like Nikon thought of everything. However, the D7200 camera at approximately 1.5 pounds, the 18-140 kit lens at 1.0 pounds and the MB-D15 at 1.1 pounds makes quite a hefty package, but it just feels right.
