I'm a cartoonist -- i use this for drawing and (as I did my old Wacom) for easy mousing.

It's small, but a decent size. It mirrors my Mac perfectly. At first the icons looked too tiny to grab, but I've adjusted; it's fine. It's light enough to prop on my lap, but i usually keep it fixed on the stand. Lots of people gripe about the stand, but once i snapped it in properly, it was fine. I still haven't programmed the shortcut buttons (old habit: keyboard shortcuts).

With this device, I can get rid of my bulky drawing table, heavy pads of drawing paper, drawers of pencils and pens, and yet another office chair and lamp. No more spilled ink on the floor! I won't have new original art to sell, but it's worth the time savings. I no longer have to clean up scanned art in Photoshop -- I can imitate brush lines, pencil, etc. digitally. I've ordered Manga Studio so I can increase my speed even more. I still have lots to learn, but I bet I'll appreciate this device even more.

This is my third or fourth Wacom device, and the best so far. I like the accuracy of looking at what I'm drawing.

I bought a screen protector so I don't need to wear a glove while i draw. No stuck pixels, no problems after a couple of minor setup gaffes.

I´m a storyboard/concept artist and Illustrator and buying my first graphic pen display was a necessary evil. Used to my beloved Intuos, I still find myself not looking at the tablet while drawing sometimes. The big difference comes when I have to Ink or finish up any kind of line art. The upgrade is outstanding. If precision is not crucial for your work (Like most storyboarding), you might not need it, but if/when you do, there's no way around it, you need one of these. The learning curve on the other hand is steeper that one could think and it's far from a plug and play device. You have re-learn and adapt your workflow and the hot keys are not nearly enough to be keyboard independent. I wish I could afford de 24HD, since probably the screen resolution of your computer is going to be way above the Cintiq 13's and would sure work much better in mirror display mode (the only mode that actually makes sense to me). Icons, tools, text, appears way too small on the tablet and you will find yourself constantly looking at your computer's screen or changing resolutions to draw. Needless to say: None of these options are ideal. The lack of touch is definitely a turn off but not a big deal, and I´m sure it could get messy since you would be touching the screen over and over, but using it to spin the "paper" around sounds very appealing and easier than spinning the 13" inch device you have on your desk.Overall a great tool that carries some inconvenience. I blame it on the lack of a competitive enough market and some laziness by the omnipotent Wacom. For $ you'll definitely feel the quality leap in your workflow and results, but it really makes me want Apple to release a Wacom competitor device that blows Wacom out of the water. I'm looking forward to trying Ipad pro and see if we are closer to getting that Cintiq killer gadget in our hands.

When working, it is wonderful. Beware the Wacom is terrible

Comments about Wacom Cintiq 13HD 13.3" Creative Pen Display:

Have purchased several Wacom products. When they work they are wonderful. Be fore warned that if you need service, Wacom is the worst for customer satisfaction. Cintiq companion 13HD requires a 3 in one cable. When they go, they are not available on the Wacom site for months, rendering your unit useless. Once again, I needed the 3 in 1 cable that has been out of stock for 6 weeks or more and now they estimate an additional 3 months. Beware of Wacom.

This is much better than the new Cintiq Pro 13

Comments about Wacom Cintiq 13HD 13.3" Creative Pen Display:

I was going to purchase Cintiq Pro 13 to replace my one-year old Cintiq 13HD, expecting that the new one would be better.  I was wrong.  The new one uses new connectors (USB-C, Display Port, etc.) which seems better (Cintiq 13HD cords are ok, though), but its screen is worse.  I returned Cintiq Pro 13, and decided to keep Cintiq 13HD.  If you have Cintiq 13 HD, keep it.

Comments about Wacom Cintiq 13HD 13.3" Creative Pen Display:

When I first got my tablet, I was thrilled. It made my work a lot easier and faster. But as I got more proficient on it, little issues started creeping up. There was a lag, no matter how many times I calibrated it, it was never calibrated properly and the software and wacom tablet just didn't work well together with photoshop. I'm not sure if its a Wacom problem or Adobe problem, but now my tablet sits on the corner of my desk, gathering dust and taking up space. I was back and forth with both Adobe and Wacom trying to fix it and they all gave up. For all the money I spent on it, it doesn't work. A total waste, I can't use it without going crazy.

Upon installation of the driver, it crashed my MacBook Pro. I attempted to contact Wacom and it went to Costa Rica. I went through three different "technical" people. Non of them spoke good English. I eventually received an email with a new driver that didn't work either. I'm sending the unit back to B&H.

What you will find yourself doing is thinking that this is a real drawing pad and try to wipe of the erasure debris.

It good for the size as if you think of it you only draw on a small area of any surface anyhow.

The one draw back is that you only have 75% Adobe RGB spectrum which isn't really that much of a but hurt as most of the spectrum covered and it if you were a bad artist before you will remain one. LOL

All in all it is a good piece of hardware solid and sturdy.

I use this for on site Photoshop freelance work and as a second monitor. I wish the screen real estate
was a little larger but other than that it's perfect for the artist on the go. Best uses would be for story board artists, cartoonists, 3D texture artists and 2D animators. Photo retouch artists who don't have to travel should consider the 22" pen display.

Comments about Wacom Cintiq 13HD 13.3" Creative Pen Display:

    Positive description:
The 13.3" Cintiq has a very sharp representation of whatever you're working on, I cranked up the brightness and gradually stepped up contrast short of losing distinction between color shades.
I went for the non-touch edition because generally touch has been annoying with any tablet I've used.
Setup was simple, the tablet has a lot of customization options for all the buttons and pressure settings.
I'm not an artist that "wanders" so getting anything larger tends to be a waste, the workable area on the tablet is more than enough to accomplish whatever I'm doing.
Pressure levels are great, nice smooth lines/curves.

    Negatives:
The pen it comes with might be a little thick and heavy if you're not used to it (I prefer pens that are around the size of a golf pencil) though there is a separate "classic" pen made by Wacom.
You probably need an darker room to work in, but raising the settings for the brightness helps considerably.
The cable connected to the device has a few minimum inches where it sticks out, this might conflict with things on your desk or hang over the side.
Nice build quality, should last in usefulness beyond whatever system you connect it to.

Had to delay this review a bit because my first unit had some dust under the display from the factory, but B&H's quick service had it exchanged in a really short amount of time.

A very good digital drawing tool. The Windows driver though is a bit flaky. There are a lot of issues installing on a PC with driver conflicts causing the tablet to not work. Once you figure out the driver conflicts though, the tool is excellent. Almost feels like a pencil replacement. Definitely a ink pen replacement as I can do better inking than I can with a pen.

Comments about Wacom Cintiq 13HD 13.3" Creative Pen Display:

This thing sets up like a dream, i already had drivers from my intuos pro and it was literally plug and play. my drawings have improved immensely being able to draw on the screen itself vs a normal digitizer tablet, and for that reason I can't recommend it enough. The biggest flaw with this product is the breakout cable coming from the device. It reminds me of the old iPod / iPhone 30 pin cables, but the the actual cable bit is chunkier and it often feels like im putting a lot of pressure on the cintiq's internals if I adjust the height of the stand or move it around my desk. The replacement cable is also proprietary, perpetually out of stock on their website, and must be bought for $ from 3rd party @ sellers if, for instance, your cat chews through it.It also feels a little smaller than I expected and (not wacom's fault but it happens) the UI scaling on a lot of my software gets confused because my main monitor is WQHD and this is only FHD, so dragging windows back and forth is kind of messed up.The screen is also kind of cheesy when compared to my other monitors, both high-end $ to lowend $, this quality is worse than any of them. I had planned on using this to replace my second monitor but I instead opted to get a better video card and run 3 monitors. All of those negatives are outweighed by how much FUN it is to draw on this thing. My storyboards have greater detail and I finish MUCH FASTER than I ever did previously!

This Cintiq may be too small for some, but those of use who like drawing on an 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper, it's perfect. You can keep it on a desk or put it in your lap and draw/scupt to your heart's content. My only gripe (and this may be fixed in the future either through drivers or Windows) is that some copy/text can be VERY small at times. Plus, the anti-glare coating can make some text a little blurry but not illegible. Overall, we have five of these in our studio and everyone loves them.

This thing is awesome. I was debating getting the touch version vs this for a long time, but I don't think you really need it. It's so easy to use and super responsive/accurate. I'm a VFX/Motion Designer and it's really helped me out especially with Rotoscoping, and basically anything hand-drawn(obviously, hah).

I do wish the cable that plugs into the side of the tablet felt stronger, I have the tablet propped up with the included stand and I'm afraid of the strain placed on it.

I am a digital artist, and have switched from my old Wacom tablet that I got in 2012 for the Cintiq. It is no disappointment. The improved features include a single cable for both the HDMI and USB to plug in. There are a lot of wires, but the sleek design makes up for it. The feeling of drawing the pen across the tablet is smooth and works with ease in any program. I use Photoshop CS6 and Illustrator CS6, and the shortcut keys on the tablet and pen greatly improve my drawing experience.

Comments about Wacom Cintiq 13HD 13.3" Creative Pen Display:

I use my Cintiq for drawing/painting in Photoshop and sculpting in Zbrush.

Overall, you will not find better digital drawing technology than Wacom. For the relatively low price you have everything you want from a Cintiq including the responsiveness and feel of the screen surface. The stand is very stable as long as you connect both the bottom and top hooks into the top and bottom slots of the Cintiq (not apparent on first setup). I've been using Wacom tablets for a long time and I get the same feel with the pen but with the added benefit of drawing directly on the screen. Simply put, it's the closest you'll get to the feel of drawing on paper with all of the digital tools at your disposal.

The 13HD does have it's shortcomings. The screen isn't as bright as a regular HD monitor even with the brightness set to 100 (I'm not sure if other Cintiqs have this problem). The screen size seems large enough until you find that a lot of the UI in most art programs cover much of the screen. As a result, I recommend using a second monitor in addition to using the Cintiq. Lastly, the 3-in-1 cord has a very flimsy connection and seems delicate.

Wacom also has a notorious problem with their drivers in that they need to be restarted (in local services) every time you restart your computer.

Comments about Wacom Cintiq 13HD 13.3" Creative Pen Display:

I'm a 3d artist by trade and have been using the Wacom for photoshop and Zbrush primarily. I was initially concerned that something of this size would hamper my productivity in Zbrush but it works great! I'm not saying an extra inch of screen real estate wouldn't be nice(there is a black border around the screen that is about an inch wide)...but this is big enough for me to sit comfortably on the couch hooked up to my laptop and sketch or model. Any larger and it might feel unwieldy. The only problem I had was with the latest drivers not working with Zbrush. At first I thought it was something with the hardware but rolled back the drivers and the pen and sensitivity worked perfectly.

Great sensitivity and the screen is nice. Good resolution and colors. My issue is with the need for a screen protector. Wacom will tell you otherwise but the screen absolutely gets scratched over time with normal use. Also the cable is very touchy. Bump it and it can kill the signal. Get a screen protector and you should be fine.
