Almost updgraded this year but got the atomos ninja 2 with it and it gave a second life to my good old sony cam.
With this shoulder support, i can now mount my atomos, mic, LED, tripod mount, and the camera feels really well balanced over my shoulder.

I have used this rig quite a lot over the last year and it's been okay but overall I wish that I had invested in a better one. Hear are my observations:

Pros:
- cheap
- looks good
- black paint hasn't scratched much

Cons:
- base plate is really slow to take off, you really need to add a quick release plate
- allen key bolts don't seem to tighten properly, so the handles end up jiggling which causes camera shake at times
- soft material on handles slides up after a while which looks a bit cheap (it doesn't make too much difference to the way it operates though)
- it really needs a counterweight, otherwise it's too front heavy with a DSLR which gets tiring
- shoulder support isn't particularly soft, which becomes a problem using heavier cameras like the C300 for a prolonged time
- design doesn't allow you to add an LCD magnifier (unless its an adjustable EVF)
- I would recommend attaching a 7" monitor above the left handle as you have to crane your neck to view a DSLR LCD

Great shoulder support rig! More sturdy than I thought..

Comments about Revo SR-1500 Dual Grip Shoulder Support Rig:

I like it a lot. Feels much more sturdy than I thought it would be. Seems strong. I just ordered the counter weight for it to help balance it out and not make it so front heavy. The Lanparte single rod clamp works very well with it, I just purchased a third..

Comments about Revo SR-1500 Dual Grip Shoulder Support Rig:

It's exactly what you would think. Just a basic lower end shoulder rig. It seems cheap now but I would recommend buying a counter weight and Cage for your camera. This is just the foundation for a rig setup.

Comments about Revo SR-1500 Dual Grip Shoulder Support Rig:

pretty solid and very front heavy - it would be perfect if you could attach a small sandbag to the back end so it would drape over your shoulder - think I'm going to try that but I'll have to rig it out somehow

Comments about Revo SR-1500 Dual Grip Shoulder Support Rig:

This product is very easy and simple to use. As soon as you take it out of the package you see all the peaces settled in their place. It's also very easy to recognize which peace is which and what peace does what. The SR-1500 Dual Grip Shoulder Support Rig is, in addition, very comfortable. The one bad aspect of this product is the handgrips. In the beginning they are very stable and very durable but as you start using them over and over, they start getting loose. If this happens I would recommend you to buy the Lanparte Rosette Handgrip. The reason why I recommend you this Lanparte Handgrip (link: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1100208-REG/lanparte_ug_03_rosette_handgrip.html ) is because it is more durable and your handgrip won't get loose overtime because it depends on a "SmallRig", and this small rig is much more durable than the one that the SR-1500 comes with. In conclusion, this product is very well built and it's very simple to use. This product is also very good for its price.

Bought this for a 3 day conference running around shooting with a DSLR. For the money it was a great purchase. Easy to setup and makes getting steady shots much easier. Definitely recommend a counter weight on the back and an external monitor on an arm.

Comments about Revo SR-1500 Dual Grip Shoulder Support Rig:

Never having done DSLR video before, I realized the need for some sort of rig. I got this after weeks of back and forth between several different brands and I'm very glad that I got this one. It works just as described and leaves plenty of room to grow as/if needed. It is a bit on the heavy side when using my L lens and battery grip (I will leave it on since I will transition from photography to video rapidly and often at the same event). The grips are comfortable. It stabilizes enough to still give the handheld feel without tiring my arms. The shoulder pad could be a little more comfortable but is tolerable. Right now I use with 7DMII, battery grip, variety of lenses, LED light and shotgun mic all with ease. I would HIGHLY recommend this product for the price point.

Comments about Revo SR-1500 Dual Grip Shoulder Support Rig:

It wasn't too long ago that inexpensive rail support rigs were typically gambles. I have been through a few cheap rigs in the past and it was obvious why paying $+ for a rig made sense. Once in a while, though, a hidden gem pops up in the field of budget rail systems. In researching the current offering of low-cost rigs, both for teaching workshops and to expand my own kit, I took a chance on the Revo. I was not disappointed.Out of the box, this rig excels where other cheap rigs fail. The rods are accurately sized, making them compatible with standard 15mm accessories from other manufacturers. The nuts are easy to tighten, and they don't slip. The shoulder pad is comfortable and stable, with no cheaply-adhered foam pads that can peel off or deteriorate. The rig is more metal than plastic. This is a pretty simple kit: rails, camera bracket, shoulder pad, and handle assembly. I have only three comments on what could be better:1) The kit includes 22" rails, which are simply just a bit too long. If I use a wide lens (Tokina 11-16mm), the camera must be moved forward to avoid rails in the shot. This leaves a bit of rail sticking out behind me. 18" or even 16" rails would be better. These are easy to replace, but that defeats the purpose of purchasing an all-in-one rig (especially if budget it limited). I don't like having any more rail behind my shoulder than is absolutely necessary.2) The handle assembly has a couple of design flaws, which are not noticable in the product photos. There are two rods, each mounted to one side of the rail bracket, and they are not easy to remove (requires a tiny hex wrench). The assembly is very wide, and there's no way to narrow it, nor is there a way to position it off-center as many people prefer to arrange them. It would be better to have a single rod slipped through the rail mount, so that it could be adjusted to taste. For me, personally, it makes no difference as I don't use the handle assembly anyway. It would be nice, though, to be able to use the mount with a smaller rod for mounting other accessories.3) A rig, especially one with 22" rails, *must* be counterbalanced in order to avod fatigue. These are easy to add from other manufacturers (I ordered a Jag35 counterweight with this rig), but it would be nice to see an included counterweight of at least 4lb with the Revo.In all, this is a rig worth considering. I use this for DSLR shoots, focusing on documentary, promotional, and commercial pieces. It has replaced a smaller support that I had and has added a lot more flexibility to my kit.

This rig gives me a steady look that I cannot obtain solely with my halo rig. It's lightweight, easy on the shoulder, and places your footage on a higher echelon. I can't wait to use it for my production camera class at USC. It's a great buy.

Comments about Revo SR-1500 Dual Grip Shoulder Support Rig:

The revo support rig was just what I needed to make my work look more authentic and professional. I do a lot of hands on filming and before my work came out with more shake then I wanted and jerky motions. With the rig I was able to smooth over a lot of the problems and make my work clean and refreshing. Good solid product make with quality materials, a key to good film work. Would recommend this product to others with similar problems.

Comments about Revo SR-1500 Dual Grip Shoulder Support Rig:

Good for the price. I got in in the deal zone[$]so that was great. The good thing is you can always use the rods and build a different setup. The shoulder pad is comfortable, but could use a bit more padding. It really needs the counter weight to work the best, but that would make it very heavy. You can get by without it and still get pretty smooth shots. It is a bit heavier than I like. If you were gonna pay the 160 retail I would look at possibly buying carbon fiber rods and making your own setup instead. The handles, pad, and camera mount could be used with virtually any setup. The front rod is one piece and does not come apart, one of the only drawbacks. For [$]bucks it's a good little setup and you get aluminum rods to experiment with other accessories if this isn't the best fit for you. For [$]bucks I would look into building a custom setup with carbon fiber rods because it would be a lot lighter. I'd like to get an offset kit to put the viewfinder in front of my face instead of off to the side. Overall it's very useful. I was just shooting some skateboarders every day and i got some smooth panning shots. You can so get a redrock micro handle for handheld shooting and use these rods for accessories, but smaller rods might be more ideal in that situation. But I'm a tall guy, and would actually prefer even longer rods for a shoulder mounted system. It's a good starter and works great but I think you can spend slightly more and make a more comfortable, lighter, and customizable setup. I think the rods are too big to be ideal for a handheld setup, but they could definitely work to mount a few things on.

Comments about Revo SR-1500 Dual Grip Shoulder Support Rig:

Caveat: I have not used this on a shoot yet. My rig is a little awkward..BMPCC mounted in a Tilta cage on top of a Beachtek active audio adapter. SO once I have the whole rig mounted on the Revo unit I have to crane my neck and head to view the LCD screen, especially with a Kinotechnik viewfinde installed. No fault of the Revo, just the way it is. I was only expecting a more ergonomic way to shoot handheld but I was in for a pleasant surprise. Having been a certified Steadicam operator in the early '90's I was not expecting how smoothly I could make walking dolly shots with just the Revo unit. No need for an articulated arm, gimbal, and vest to make smooth, wide angle dolly shots. In summary, the unit is well thought out, good quality, and a very fair price.
