After the great success of its original R-09, Edirol has raised the stakes with the new palm-sized R-09HR high-resolution digital field recorder. The upgraded design will support the use of up to 8GB SD cards for increased capacity, with the added ability to record at 24-bit/96kHz resolution. A small preview speaker has been added to the back panel for confirming those one-time interviews, and the wireless remote allows for easy operation while keeping the machine close to the sound source. Add to this a wider 1.5" OLED organic display, longer battery life, built-in high-grade stereo microphones, an easy handling rubber-coated body, and you have the makings of a great portable package.

The LLS-2 Line Level Shifter from Ebtech is a handy two-channel utility that effectively provides line level transformation between balanced and unbalanced devices. The Line Level Shifter also contains Ebtech's Hum Eliminator technology for breaking the ground loops that cause 60Hz hum and AC buzz (noise that commonly occurs when making these kinds of connections). "Smart" connections automatically distinguish between balanced and unbalanced connections. The unit features 1/4" TRS phone inputs and outputs on both channels.
