    Epson 2040 Reviews

PowerLite Home Cinema 2040 Full HD 3D-Ready 3LCD Home Theater Projector is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Projector I recently bought this Projector for our home theater project from B&H Photo & Video.Their service was great. 2 day expedited service for no extra charge.Had the Projector installed professionally. Picture quality is great with very good colors. No ghost images as has been reported with some of the projectors. Contrast is very good and 2200 lumens lamp is really powerful as pictures are very bright. I had read some negative comments about the noise level but I did not find it annoying. Although I had it connected to surround sound, its built in speaker is pretty good and if your surround sound fails, built in speaker can do the job.My installer had told me that projectors come from $ to $ but if you buy something in between, you should be OK. I feel for the price it is a great projector and would recommend it to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Projector and Awesome Service!!!! First of all I would like to thank B&H for their level of service and quick delivery. Thank You so much, I love you guys and I will continue to buy products from B&H. That includes my family and friends. As far as the projector goes. It's simply stunning. I am speachless the quality of picture this projector puts out. I have You really need to go into the 2K range to beat this projector I feel. I am very picky so I tried a number of projectors and this was my favorite one. I watch a lot of TV and Movies on Netflix and YouTube. I am very pleased with my decision. I would recommend this product over and over again. The picture that I have attached is projected on a wall that is 12' feet high and 16' feet wide. regular paint, not even screen paint yet. Like I said I am in love :) B&H thank you very much.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One of the best projectors for the price This little projector has an incredibly bright, colorful image. With very low latency and enough lumens for a small room, it easily replaces a TV. Pros: Great colors, low latency (works great on games), extremely bright image, small form factor, decent fan noise on economy mode, great auto keystone, decent speaker. Cons: Fan is rather noisy on bright mode, but I find a lot of projectors sound like small airplanes on their best settings. And now for the most frustrating con...no adjustable vertical shift. Epson lens offset is weird, so if you have a small room with a 100' screen (say 10-12 feet from projector), the projector either needs to be at head level while sitting on a couch, or 8-12 from ceiling. Since the room I use has a ceiling fan, the only other viable option is the mid height. Now the auto keystone corrects nicely if you place it anywhere else or not a 1:1 angle, but then you get the light spillover on the wall. You could theoretically place it anywhere and correct the image, but I don't like the spill. Overall, I am very pleased with the this projector and definitely would recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazed This projector delivers on every level, color, contrast, setup, detail, and functions. Everyone who comes to our home is amazed at the clarity of the picture from a projector. I just tell them that projectors arent what we knew back in the day and this one competes with any LED out there. What you get from this projector might not be as clean and clear as the 4K, but you make up for that in a really nice projector with a size that you cant get with a 4K TV (for most of us at least). I have a 120 screen which would cost easily over $10,000. Do the math. I would do this again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great projector! I use the product in a small room (office). It give me a sharp image with solid dynamic range and superb colors. Yes, the blacks levels could go a bit deeper at times, but it is so close to what I would consider perfect that I would hardly complain about it. All and all, amazing product at an amazing price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Projector This is my first projector purchase and the quality is amazing on a 120 screen. I was hesitant when I read the reviews on clarity but seeing it first hand has made me a believer. Projectors can be as clear/clearer than Plasmas/LED/LCD TVs.

    question

I would like to hook up my sound bar to this unit? Is that possible. I see no digital optical port.
    Asked by: Anonymous
No but I have a workaround. Connect an Apple TV via HDMI and Apple TV has a digital optical port plus you can project even more content by mirroring an iPhone. Awesome projector btw!

    question

Is this one able to attach to the ceiling? How can we connect with DVD player once we attached to the ceiling??
    Asked by: Anonymous
The Epson PowerLite 2040 can be mounted to a ceiling. There are several mounts available. Please contact a Representative here at 800-606-6969 or email HomeAV@bandh.com for recommendations. To connect a DVD player requires a physical cable connection to the rear of the unit. https://bhpho.to/2jac68d

    question

Is it possible to play a Quicktime movie directly from my Macbook into the projector by connecting to the USB port? (USB to USB). If not, how can I achieve that? and what is the USB port used for then? Thank you !
    Asked by: Anonymous
Hi there! You cannot use USB to connect computer with any projectors. There are two ways to do that: using a hdmi cable to connect directly; or connecting projector with an Apple TV(which is what I'm doing). you can mirrror everything from your laptop to the projector.

    question

How do you know if it has a lithium battery? Or does it run on something else? Ive packed it in my suitcase and Im unsure if I should have taken it out beciade of the law stating no lithium batteries in luggage
    Asked by: Anonymous
The unit itself does not have any batteries. The only place it would have a battery is the remote control which you can figure out by opening the battery compartment.
