New Intuit TurboTax 2011 Programs

With tax season here, B&H offers several software packages designed to guide you through preparation of your returns. They include the newly arrived Intuit TurboTax Deluxe 2011: Federal + State + E-File  edition for Windows or Mac users. It contains guidance for first-time users, federal and state returns plus the ability to electronically file your federal return. The CD-ROM-based program entitles you to download one TurboTax State product, which Intuit deems a $39.95 value.

The program is tailored to identify and maximize your deductions. It walks you through some 350 deductions including mortgage interest, charitable contributions, education, medical expenses and more. It also guides you through changes in your tax situation and tells you what you can deduct to get your biggest refund. It automatically double-checks your return for errors to ensure your taxes are completed correctly. Intuit includes what it calls the Audit Risk Meter that helps you reduce your chance of an audit.

Another new item is Intuit TurboTax Home & Business 2011. Designed for sole proprietors, self-employed, consultants, 1099 contractors and single owner limited-liability companies (LLCs), the program takes you through the steps for entering business income and expenses to help you maximize business and personal deductions, home office deductions, depreciation and more. The Windows version also creates W-2 and 1099-MISC forms for your employees and contractors.
