Compatible with Windows and Mac, this array features a storage capacity of 128TB, which is configured as 8 x 16TB hard drives. It connects to your host system using a Thunderbolt 5 port, which provides 140W of power delivery, while two additional Thunderbolt 5 ports provide 30W of power and allow you to connect peripherals, such as storage devices and monitors. Rounding out the connectivity options is a 20 Gb/s USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 port, which provides up to 15W of power. If your system doesn't have Thunderbolt 5, the 8big Pro5 is backward compatible with Thunderbolt 4 and Thunderbolt 3.
Using its hardware-based controller, the 8big Pro5 comes preconfigured in RAID 5, but may be reconfigured for RAID 0, 1, 6, 10, 50, and 60, each of which supports data redundancy, performance, or a combination of both. For those who do not require a RAID, JBOD is also available. When configured as a RAID 0, data transfer speeds can reach as high as 2800 MB/s, while a RAID 5 configuration supports data transfer speeds up to 2500 MB/s.
LaCie's 8big Pro5 must be formatted for Windows or Mac prior to use. Included is a power cable, a 3.3' Thunderbolt 5 cable, Toolkit software, and a 2-month subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud Pro. Protection is provided by a limited 5-year warranty, which includes data recovery services.
