Fearless Genius: A New Model for Visual Storytellers

05/16/2018Link1

Documentary photographer and filmmaker Doug Menuez shares his stories and rare photographs of Steve Jobs and the greatest innovators of the digital revolution, when Jobs gave him unprecedented access to document his process of innovation. Jobs’s trust led to insider access to document Silicon Valley, from 1985-2000, as the technology that changed all our lives was built. The resulting archive of 250,000 images is being preserved at Stanford University as a resource for scholars and historians and was the basis for his Amazon photo book #1 bestseller “Fearless Genius.”

After showing the work, Menuez walks through how he is extending his core photo essay into a cross-media platform of content with new coverage of the next generation of innovators to produce a documentary film, TV series, immersive exhibition, education program, and more. He believes this is a viable model for visual storytellers to make a living.
