First Look: Zoom H4n Pro

Join B&H’s own Robert Rives, as he discusses new features of the H4n Pro Handy Recorder from Zoom, including its stereo microphone, built-in preamps, and onboard effects processing. In this video, Rives engages the talents of colleague Nick Messitte to test-drive the Zoom H4n on acoustic and electric guitars. We hope you enjoy the video, and invite you to view the wide selection of other instructional and informative videos at BandH.com.

What kind of boom and articulating arm is the guitar player using?

Also, how is the H4 attached in the main recording?  It appears that the boom is stuck in the end of the H4.

How long does the new Zoom H4n Pro take to 'start up' ? The old H4n version takes a very long time to start up before being able to record after turning on.

Hi Patrick -

I just powered one up and the initial start-up is less than 9 seconds with no memory card installed.  Start-up times may vary depending upon the capacity and data stored on the card as the device may take longer to read the installed memory card.
