Excellent filter
Using it on a brand new Sigma 150 (macro) 2.8 lense. Mostly outdoor photography. This lense helps clarify the contrast and intensity of the picture.

Comments about Hoya 72mm Circular Polarizer (HMC) Multi-Coated Glass Filter:
Great circular polarizer - works as expected. Very high quality build construction. I generally leave this filter on the camera most of the time now, as it is appropriate for all but the darkest conditions. It would be nice to have a quick-release, but that would obviously compromise the solid feel of this filter.
Especially nice is the feel of turning the polarizer from horizontally to vertically - there is a good amount of smooth resistance which allows you to fine-tune the position with ease, and be sure that the filter stays at the right angle when finished.

I've been traveling through Yosemite, the Grand Canyon and Sedona. The filter worked well; however, I found it a bit awkward getting it on the lens.

Comments about Hoya 72mm Circular Polarizer (HMC) Multi-Coated Glass Filter:
I use this filter for lanscape photography on RAW files and HDRI. It does what is advertised to do by removing excess "light clutter" and glare, and allowing the real colors to come through. It has quality construction and is easy to use. Price was high but for a multicoated filter was comparable or better than others.

Comments about Hoya 72mm Circular Polarizer (HMC) Multi-Coated Glass Filter:
I originally purchased the non HMC (multi coated) version of this filter. I was informed by the rep that the other filter was multi coated. After consulting your free catalog, I realized, before leaving the 9th Ave store, that the non multi coated filter wasn't what I wanted. I went back in and purchased the right one the second time. I always enjoy browsing the NY city store.

Bought this specifically to take to Asia while on vacation. Pictures of the sky with clouds became more dramatic. In addition, beach scenes had a lot less glare and light reflections.

The filter did not change the polarity nearly as much as I thought it would. I had a hard time telling the difference when I rotated it.

I have a Nikon D300 and bought this filter to use with a Nikon 18-200mm AF lens. The filter came with no instructions on how to use it and it wasn't until a friend of mine showed me what to do that I finally understood how to use it. It was a little expensive, but I do like the results especially when photographing items in water.

Comments about Hoya 72mm Circular Polarizer (HMC) Multi-Coated Glass Filter:
I bought this filter to use with a Nikon 18-200mm AF lens on my D300. The filter came with no instructions on how to achieve the best effect and I honestly could not detect any effect with the front filter rotated in many different angles. Also, at the wide angle setting of the lens, the filter produced vignetting at all 4 corners, something the advertising promised it would not do. All in all, the filter was not worth the price paid and I would not recommend it.

Merchant response: The polarization effect varies depending on the angle of view to the sun.
