Manfrotto MT290XTC3US Reviews
Poorly made. Won't buy another Manfrotto product. EVER.

I used the tripod 3 times. Legs were fully closed, when one of the lower sections fell off. I contacted Manfrotto support several times over a one month period and never received a response. Switching over to Small Rig gear.
Light but shaky

I love Manfrotto tripods. I bougth this one because I have a 3 section version that never use the 3rd section so I thought this one would be lighter. It was lighter but it shakes a lot with a Z9 + 800mm PF on it. I'll find another use for it because it's a very nice tripod.

Is it compatible with a Gitzo head?
Yes, mostly any tripod has a 3/8"mount stud for a head and mostly any head has a 3/8" female thread.

question
I'm looking for a light easy task video tripod for my Panasonic ag ac-160 -will this tripod do the job ?
Yes, that that tripod is fine. Most prefer that a tripod be as tall has themselves. Note that this tripod without a head gets to about 65.2 inches. And this is just the tripod so you will need a video head. There are some listed below that are very good.

11 lbs limit has me concerned. My setup is a D300s with battery pack and Sigma 150-600 plus a 2lb gimball. That puts me at around 9 pounds, without any added weight I might apply by my hands on the camera. Is that too much load for this setup?
I haven't tested mine to it's limit however I would be leery of putting 9 lbs on fully extended legs. On non-extended legs it would hold 9 lbs easily.

A compatible quick release for this tripod (not ball head)?
Typically you would need to put either a ball head or pan tilt head on a tripod. Using a tripod without a head counter intuitive. Please call in to get more clarification.
