A B+W 62mm Haze (UV) MRC Filter is a wise initial investment. It helps protect your valuable investment from dust, moisture and scratches, which can lead to costly repairs. If desired it can be left on the lens at all times for protection. A haze filter provides additional benefits of correction for Ultraviolet (UV) light which can register on film and videotape as a bluish cast and can obscure distant details. An ultraviolet filter allows you to correct for the UV effect to varying degrees.
A B+W UV MRC filter is an excellent general purpose filter since it will not only protect your front element from airborne contaminants as well as fingerprints but also help you get better images at high altitude and while on the water. Using this filter will diminish the bluish cast caused by the various atmospheric factors, yet, it will not have an effect on the color balance of your shot. No increase in exposure is required.
The filter ring is made from brass yielding a stronger product. Brass filter rings are also less prone to jamming. In addition, the seal between the glass and filter ring is exceptionally strong giving the filter added strength and durability. The excellent Schott Glass used in the manufacturing of this filter is legendary and synonymous with the highest standards of filter production. It comes with a solid 10-year warranty.
The MRC coating on this filter adds to its durability - particularly under less than optimal weather conditions. In addition, the hard coating makes cleaning the filter easier - especially when it comes to removing fingerprints or surface dirt. Moreover, this filter benefits users of digital cameras whose shorter focal length lenses are more susceptible to dirt and other contaminants on the front lens element.
Multi-coated to minimize reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting.

this filter is mainly used to protect the lense but it has its advantages as well as it makes outdoor pictures more vibrant,Indoor not so much (but thats not what it is intended for anyway).
Its "Made in Germany" so I know it stands for Quality.

Comments about B+W 62mm UV Haze 010 F-Pro MRC Filter:
I have about a dozen B+W filters. And they're all great as usual. Very scratch resistant. Except this one came with a tiny spec of something that I couldn't get off with my giotto air blower. So I used my nikon microfiber cloth to try and wipe it off. But then it left what I thought was a tough streak. Only it wasn't a streak, it was a micro scratch! So I decided to use a lenspen instead. And the scratch gets bigger! Needless to say, I was not happy about what transpired even before I had the chance to use the filter. But I knew it wouldn't affect my pictures. So I tried to forget what happened because I needed one for my outing. Oh yea, I was surprised to see this filter came in the new dark blue box. Supposedly the same o filter as in the past...

Got this for my Tamron 70-300 USD VC and would get another in the future. Provides a slight filtering effect and most importantly, protection for the front element of the lens.

B+W (Schneider) Filters are simply the best available, they are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. No point in using inferior filters on your good glass.
I uses these filters as protection and UV reduction on all my lenses.

I use this product on my prime lens. It does a good job reducing the haze, however it doesnt stay on my lens very well. I have a Black Rapid Dual strap so my cameras do bounce around against my leg. Mo matter how tight its on the lens it will pop off here and there, could be something to do with the lens hood though.

Comments about B+W 62mm UV Haze 010 F-Pro MRC Filter:
Some people say protective filters are not worth it but i think with an expensive lens it definitely can't hurt. The B+W pro filter is a very solidly made piece of glass, and as of yet i haven't had many problems with flare/image degradation. I previously had a tiffen filter that would flare in EVERY situation; i'll never go cheap again. Only thing i can complain about is there were smudges on it when i got it in the mail. great product otherwise.

It's Solid, compared to others. It does what is supposed to do. It fits very good and doesn't look like its going to die any time soon like some cheap ones. Using it on a nikon 105mm Micro lens. Good stuff to protect the investment.

Can you really afford to burden a $1000+ lens with a $25 UV filter? I only buy topline filters for my lenses. B&W is a frequent choice for me, and like the prior purchases, they didn't disappoint me this time. Clarity, build, smoothness -- they are all there.

Comments about B+W 62mm UV Haze 010 F-Pro MRC Filter:
I picked up a cheap UV filter when I first got my lens. I thought I had a bad lens with all the sunspots and lensflare when shooting anywhere close to into the sun, even with a lens hood. A forum mentioned getting a GOOD coated UV filter and after reading the reviews I bought the B+W. An AMAZING difference. Spots went away and I have to TRY for flare to get even a trace of nicely controlled effect, with direct shooting into the sun. Filter is well built too. I am absolutely sold on the B+W filters now.

Ever since I started to use filters, I have always come back to B+W MRC F=PRO UV filters to protect them all. Plus it's exclusive hard MRC coating makes clean up a snap leaving no marks. As clear as any filter can be, they can't be beat. They are simply the best on the market.

Comments about B+W 62mm UV Haze 010 F-Pro MRC Filter:
I have this filter on my new Tamrom 18-270mm VC PZD lens. The fitment is perfect and the quality is superb! I bought this mainly as protection for my new lens. I did research on different brands and B&W is the clear choice vs. Tiffen, Hoya, etc. I'm sold on B&W and will never get any other brand. I also have another B&W filter on my 50mm lens and can say the same thing.
Bottom line is, lenses are very expensive. Do NOT skimp out by not getting a filter for protection. These B&W filters are like pennies compared to the price you pay for lenses. Protect your investment.
