The B+W 77mm 0.6 ND MRC 102M Filter is a solid neutral density filter providing a 2 stop exposure. This 0.6 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the overall coloration of the image.
The Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) is both an anti-reflection coating as well as a protective surface. It helps to increase light transmission by reducing reflections, scattered light, and ghosting. Additionally, it offers greater protection to the filter substrate and stays cleaner for longer than uncoated filters.
B+W filters are constructed from high quality Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. They feature a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

For my money nothing beats B+W filters, and this one is no exception. Purchased for further controlling apertures selections in bright light, it works just as billed. High quality brass rings and superb multi-coated glass-- what more could you ask for! Support those who make quality stuff! Highly recommended!

Comments about B+W 77mm 0.6 ND MRC 102M Filter:
I use it mainly to slow down the shutter speed when photographing water. Many times I combine it with an ND Grad and/or Polarizer, and the image quality is good. I really like the solid B+W construction of these filters! They are easy to screw in and out of the lens.
For some reason, this filter seems to attract more dust than my other filters. No big deal though – I am just cleaning it up before each use.

Comments about B+W 77mm 0.6 ND MRC 102M Filter:
This filter features the standard B+W construction, which is to say it is of excellent quality. I haven't been able to discern any loss of sharpness or color cast due to the filter. I also have yet to experience any flare or loss of contrast due to the filter. As with all B+W filters I highly recommend this one.

Comments about B+W 77mm 0.6 ND MRC 102M Filter:
I bought this filter because I primarily shoot video with my DSLR and needed to be able to reduce my light without having to jack around with the camera settings, especially when shooting outdoors. This product has performed flawlessly. It provides just the right amount of light reduction for most applications, although in really bright sunlight, a slightly stronger filter would be appropriate. The construction of the product is top notch and I will go to B+W filters first for my future purchases.

Comments about B+W 77mm 0.6 ND MRC 102M Filter:
Having spent quite a bit on my set of Zeiss ZE Primes for my 5D Mark II, I knew I needed to get the best filter possible to complement. It's been wonderful to use this on bright, bright days (in conjunction with my B+W polarizer) and be able to moderately shallow depth of field along with richly blue skies. I've even dropped it a couple of times (yes I'm a clutz) and not a scratch whatsoever; just needed a gentle wipe with cloth and solution.
Highly Recommended! If you buy top-notch lenses, don't skimp on the filters! Also recommend the B+W MRC Circular Polarizer!

Comments about B+W 77mm 0.6 ND MRC 102M Filter:
Filters are not just filters. Any pro knows that you don't stick a cheap filter on the end of a quality lens. All the high end filters are, I think, good in terms of not distorting the image, etc. However, there's more to a filter than the piece of glass. The B+W filters seem much heavier than many others of the same size. I think that is probably due to the powder coated brass threaded ring.
That heavy duty well machined ring is important because it doesn't get stuck like rings on cheaper filters. Everybody has had the experience of wanting to change filters and discovering that the more they try to remove the filter, the more stuck it seems to get. That's because when you squeeze on the ring, it can distort. B+W filters seem to be sturdy enough so that ring doesn't flex at all. You won't find the glass loose and rattling in one of these filters, as I've seen in cheaper ones. These filters are worth the cost.
It's essential to use quality ND filters when shooting video with an HDSLR, since unlike in still photography, you do not use shutter speed to control exposure.

Comments about B+W 77mm 0.6 ND MRC 102M Filter:
Perfect ND filter, im using it for outdor photo, with flash, much better results shuting at the typical flash sinc speeds 1/250, ideal sunny days low iso, and apertures around F4 the sweet aperture in my most used lens, Im now able to get much better balance day light/flashlight... just perfect for sunsets..
If you have faster than f2.8 lense i would recomend you the 3 stops ND filter (0.9) to get allow subject isolation in bright light...

Came in handy for waterfall shots on my last trip - reduced the light without any color shifting. B+W makes good quality filters - have bought many in the past - although a bit pricey - they are worth the price and will continue to use.

Comments about B+W 77mm 0.6 ND MRC 102M Filter:
I use this for catching fountains and waterfalls. The 0.6 factor is just about perfect for this application. It goes on and off my lens easily, never gets stuck.
I love B+W filters, I have 3 of them, and it's the only brand I buy any more.
The frame is fairly tall, though. If you stack filters, you may get some vignetting at wider angles, but usually just the one filter by itself is no problem.

Comments about B+W 77mm 0.6 ND MRC 102M Filter:
I use this filter for a slow flowing water affect in high country streams. It works beautifully. The colors come through very nicely and the objects in sharp focus that are not moving come through tack sharp. I can easily say that I would purchase this filter again as I have already purchased one for my wife's kit.
