Elinchrom Rotalux Softbox for Flash
The 20x51" Rotalux Strip Softbox is designed for use with a strobe. With fabric not intended for the heat of a continuous light, the 20x51" Rotalux Strip comes standard with a silver interior and a flush front face. The flush mounted front face provides a wider spread of light than a box with a recessed front. It may be used as side light without as much wrap around as a conventional rectangular softbox.
- The 20x51" Rotalux Strip Softbox is the right size for full length portraits of children. It may also be used for large still life applications as well.

Upgraded my lights from Alien Bees to Elinchrom 400BX. This was the first modifier I used on the new lights and the difference was amazing! This softbox produces very soft light with both diffusers attached and makes skin look smooth. I used it outside during daylight to shoot 3 people and the shots turned out great. Excellent indoors for portraits too! The material is so much better and durable than Alien Bees. So glad I bought this! Comes with a very cool case and when broken down, hardly takes up any room. Set-up may seem a little trickey at first, but after doing more, it's a snap.

very happy with this purchase. i tried the CL brand first and hated the speedring (felt like I risked destroying my strobe every time I removed the softbox), but this is worth much more even factoring in the higher price. it snaps on and off easily.
assembly is easy once you realize that you bend the rods in the opposite direction, then rotate them so they go from convex to concave to form the final curved shape.
comes with a great carrying case and super portable and light for location shoots.
perfect for fashion shots or full length side lighting, great for lighting up a seamless background as well.
in short, love it

Oh my, this is a great product-well made, easy to set up, comes with custom carry case, two layers of diffusers as well as a white deflector. With the internal ring, it can be rotated after being set up before the diffuser/s are fitted. It is light and lights evenly. If it came with an assistant it would be absolutely perfect! Love it!

Difficult to assemble the first time, but after you have the rods installed you do not have to ever remove them, just fold up the softbox and put it in it's case. I read a review somewhere that suggested you hold the softbox by putting your hand thru the front and holding the speed ring with one hand while holding the softbox over your head while inserting the rods with your other hand. This certainly makes it easier to assemble the deeper Elinchrom softboxes.
It is very easy to unfold and install on an Elinchrom flash unit, can be rotated as desired. Easy to remove, fold up and store. Beautiful design and excellent quality materials. I especially like the Elinchrom speed ring that come with their softboxes.
The quality of light these softboxes creates is fabulous.

It is light and easy to set up; it does not require and any special equipment to set it up; works as expected; beautiful designed and it is easy to take it down and store away; it is good for one to two persons; I used it with my Digital Style 600 RX...nothing to complain about...good equipment and beautiful designed... good luck

My specialty is high school seniors on location and in the studio. This modifier is used mostly for a side fill, hairlight, or other accent lighting application. It is a very efficient modifier with a tight spread.
Assembly is a breeze, like the other Elinchrom Rotaluxs i own and the design is improved to prevent reflective material separation.
It is a little pricy, but you will never need another one and service is top notch.
