I had never used professional lighting like this. The instructions for setup and use were easy to understand. The product was easy to set up and it folds up into a small portable size for travel. I did not get the one with the carry case, but found a suitable carry bag for it. Come with cages to go around the lights to prevent glass from hitting you in the case of bulb shatter. They get very warm, but if turned off for breaks seem to be okay.

Lowel Tota lamps put out a large volume of light. They don't weigh much and don't take up a lot of space. Often, when I go out to record video by myself, I will pack a Tota and stand along with my tripod. Using the translucent umbrella for a soft fill light really perks up otherwise drab indoor lighting conditions. I would prefer to have the durable and time-tested Lowel stands vs. the flimsy Impact stands.

Comments about Lowel Tota-light Two-Light Kit:
As a college student with very little money at times, these lights were a brilliant buy for me. The setup for these lights is very simple. After placing the bulbs inside the heads, it really only takes moments to set the lights up. Plus, the lights are very reliable. I honestly have no legitimate complaints on this setup for the money I spent.

Comments about Lowel Tota-light Two-Light Kit:
I found these lights were very effective for filming in an artists studio, which was a small, tight shed converted to studio. Only one outlet with very limited space. My one concern is that they're very very hot. But overall, they worked well.

Comments about Lowel Tota-light Two-Light Kit:
Great kit, very portable. Very versatile, can be used in studio settings and on location. I used both lights with 750w EMD lamps, and it didn't blow the circuit in the residence where I was shooting. The lights were quite hot by the end of the shoot, but cooled down quickly. All pieces of the kit were very well made and sturdy. This is a wonderful light kit to start with and very reasonably priced.

I'm using the product to shoot mosaic pieces up to 6*6 feet size. It does the job, and illuminates it almost perfectly uniformly, surely a very good value for money.

Comments about Lowel Tota-light Two-Light Kit:
I purchased the same tota Light kit 5 or six years ago and the Lamps are identical with exception of the switch on the cord. The switches seem to be a lower quality. The main issue I had was concerning the Impact Light Stands. The materials used are cheap and do not equal the ones that I purchased just a few years ago. I feel that I paid to much for the kit with the quality of the Light stands in question.

I ordered this kit so I could set up my documentation photography for the art conservation projects I am involved in. T
he equipment arrived sooner than I expected and exceeded and expections I had. The quality is excellent and the carrying kit is perfect for transporting the lights to whatever project I am working on.
Just don't forget to purchase the lightbulbs you need for the Tota-lights, as they don't come with the kit.

I use this kit to photograph paintings, and it does just what I need it to. The umbrellas are perfect for even lighting. This is basically the same kit we used in a photographing artwork course I had in college. Would be great if it came with a few bulbs.

These are really great lights for shooting stills or video. They really give a professional look when used correctly and are very durable. They do generate a lot of heat though, so make sure you have a fan or airconditioning close by...
