Stable and sturdy, I am confident to mount any of my strobes, constant lights, soft boxes, even cameras, on this Impact tri-pod! I trust it implicitly! As a studio photographer, I can never have enough tri-pods. If a photographer is really doing their job, every shoot presents a new lighting situation and challenge. There are times when I have 6 to 8 stands set up, sometimes more, just to get the right shadow, light, and contrast, to set the right mood. For the money, the Impact Air-Cushioned Heavy Duty Light Stand is the best value for the money!Joel LucksCo-FounderComplete Concept Photography[@]

These things are great for the price, these are pretty heavy duty and work well. Study, Reliable, Decent.
However.
They are a pain to close sometimes, getting this weird binding effect that my manfrotto and lumopro light stands do not do. This is annoying. Really Annoying. Mostly when your in a hurry. I'm sure if you use them a lot you'll get to learn how to do it consistently, but I'd rather not learn and assistants don't know any better. The air cushioning is also not as smooth and consistent as other more expensive light stands. The smoothness isn't their like in the good stuff.. My assistant refuses to use them.
When he's not around I use them for backdrops, or holding lights only if my other light stands are already in use. I have 5-6 nice light stands and 5 lights total so they mostly get used for backdrop duty, fantastic for that I must say. If budget is important these things are an incredible value and they can hold LARGE modifiers no problem.

I had bunch of items from B&H a week ago and it arrived yesterday . the Stand looks great little heavy but strong and love the Air cushine. a minor point i have noticed is a rubber foot. they would have provide a rubber bush on the foot, so it will get more grip on smooth floors

heaVY DUTY INDEED, I have heavy strobes and this prevents them from coming crashing down. If you have lightweight equipment then its overkill.
But the build is great. I also have almost the same stand, sold by Buff, the buff stand has a wider stance for the legs, but both work just fine.

Comments about Impact Air Cushioned Heavy Duty Light Stand, Black - 13' (4m):
After destroying another light weight tripod which came with my LED lights, I decided that I needed a tripod which could stand up to my field usage.
Although this tripod is a little heavy for some users, it is strong enough to stand up to the abuse that my usage recording political actualities results in.
The unit is extremely stable and does not tip over easily even with a relatively heavy light on the top. I am continuous dealing with people who are bumping into my lights and other equipment.
I intend to purchase another one of these units in the next six months.

Heavy enough to be stable when fully extended, yet not too heavy to carry around. The air cushioning is a dream when lowering a hot light -- prevents breakage.

Very sturdy and well built. Easy to use and the air cushioning is nice for when assistants don't know how to take down a stand.
I would recommend adding a sandbag to the leg so it doesn't get knocked over.

I use this light stand to shoot live music concerts, music videos and short films. It is a solid stand that pops the light way up there. The air cushioning helps prevent damage to the fixtures.

I am very pleased with these stands, which I use to hold strobe heads. They are lightweight, cleanly designed, and seem to be well made. The air cushioning is an excellent safety feature, but can be a bit 'bouncy' , which is what cost them that fifth star. (And to be fair, I have not looked into whether the air bleed is adjustable).

I'm using this stand with the boom Arm - 6.5' by Westcott, these two together are a great combo for the price. Recommended

As these are my first light stands, I have no comparison to make, however, I looked at a competitor's brand that were 30.00 more so these looked like a steal.

Exactly what you'd expect from a stand. Holds your gear, is good and sturdy, and all the parts fit together well. Definitely a great value for the price.

Comments about Impact Air Cushioned Heavy Duty Light Stand, Black - 13' (4m):
I wasn't sure how much sturdiness I'd get from "heavy duty," but they seem well-constructed and are significantly heavier than my "light duty" stand. The knobs for extending the stand are easy to use and the air-cushioning works well. They are rather long folded-up, and will take a little effort to take to remote shoots, but anything less would tend to blow over. Overall, a good balance between portability and sturdiness.
