Comments about Lowel Uni-TO Light Stand - 8' (2.4m):
Imagine this...
You're shooting an interview and you wanna put a light behind a person sitting in a chair, so that you can light the background behind them.
This is THE lighting stand for the job. It is low, man, so low.
For height, yeah it gets up there, but loses stability as you go up due to the thin tubes and light weight. Easy fix, use that big stand you've got in your kit.
I keep this guy in the kit for effect lighting and special scenarios. And I love it. Not sure what else could even do the job.

I only need it to hold the tota light and an umbrella. It breaks down and goes up fast.

Comments about Lowel Uni-TO Light Stand - 8' (2.4m):
I use it to support an SB-800 and it fits in places regular light stands won't fit. It seems sturdy enough and time will tell how it holds up but seems to be really good at this point.

Love this light stand. Very well function. Use for outdoor. And wide leg helps to prevent the winds. Lightweight and strong enough for flash.

These are great stands. Very professional looking (nice color combo and finish), compact yet extend very high. The Lowel case is great too. Perfect set up for the Strobist!

Comments about Lowel Uni-TO Light Stand - 8' (2.4m):
I needed a small inexpensive stand to fit in a fairly small light kit for travel. I would not recomend putting heavy lights on it, but to hold a small light or flexfill its fine.

Comments about Lowel Uni-TO Light Stand - 8' (2.4m):
Taking this stand for what its designed to do (hot shoe strobes, portability), its made perfectly. It's very lightweight, folds up remarkably small and has amazing height. Using it on location and in a variety of settings, I've found the feet work very well, as you can set them in a variety of configurations to use from flat surfaces to rocky terrain to narrow spaces.

I was really looking for a portable light stand and this fit the bill. It folds up to around 22" and can extend up to 8ft! All in one package, unlike those other ones that extend 8ft but fold up to around 30"+

Comments about Lowel Uni-TO Light Stand - 8' (2.4m):
If your looking for a small and compact light stand, this is the one. On the strobist, he talks about other small light stand, but they all seem to only extent to 6-7' unlike this one. It can literally extend to 8' and still be solid on the ground. Folds down to 22".
Only draw back is it isn't air cushion, but no one should be trying to collapse a light stand with the flash on it too quick.
