Being frugal (cheap), I made a 4-mic T-bar at work but needed a way to attach it to a standard mic stand without having to make a 5/8 tapped thread into stainless steel. This worked perfectly.But the chance of winning $1000. for writing this review are about a ga-zillion to one.[...]

This adapter is great to have on hand to rectify issues with 3/8" and 5/8" mic stands & mic clips. I use these with Audix mics and mic clips which are 3/8", while most mic stands are 5/8". Easy fix!

I have an Azden SGM1X shotgun mic that came with a shock mount that has 2 different female thread holes - one is 3/8" and the other is the same size thread as most video camera tripod threads for the bottom of the camera. The adapter allows me to connect the shock mount onto the end of my boom pole or mic stand. And I keep it in my camera bag just in case I have an odd situation when it's needed.

I am using this to mount a Rode SVM mic (when not using the mic on a camcorder with the flash mount)to a standard (US-style) 5/8" mic thread mount. It works. Wish they had one with a swivel joint as well.
