Looked everywhere for this thing, finally found it on B&H. I use this for daily press events whenever a mult box isn't available. It's cheap, works great, and packs away nicely.

Comments about AKG 231/1 Miniature Tripod Microphone Desk Stand:
I plan on traveling for a few weeks but still need to record my voice-overs. This is a great mic stand for traveling. It folds up very small and lightweight, especially nowadays when luggage weight is limited for air travel.
I use this with 2 mics. An Electrovoice RE20 and a Behringer B1. They both work nicely. The RE20 wants to just be too heavy on once side but adjusting the feet of the tripod fixes this.

Good little mic stand, but thin walled construction. Not the sturdiest stand, but if treated with care should last a very long time.

Comments about AKG 231/1 Miniature Tripod Microphone Desk Stand:
I do a lot of travelling shoots, and needed something small and sensible to mount mics for interviews of location recording.
This tripod works perfectly, has a wide enough footprint to steady every mic I've tried with it, has supple enough feet to keep from sliding or transmitting too much noise, and folds up neatly enough to fit into a vest pocket.
Only downside it its generally fragile feel, though with care I haven't broken it yet.

Comments about AKG 231/1 Miniature Tripod Microphone Desk Stand:
I use this product to support a full size mic while recording lectures and presentations. The stand is well made, and compacts nicely for portability. I needed a stand that fits into a small bag for traveling, yet will securely and stably hold all my mics for important lectures. The stand has rubber feet which keep it secure on all surfaces and the legs kind of lock into position so it stays open, though it also folds easily when desired. Threads on the mic holder are well made and I used an isolation clamp to furhter benefit my recording quality. Height is fixed, but holds my full size mic (AT 822) easily.

Comments about AKG 231/1 Miniature Tripod Microphone Desk Stand:
I do audio interviews for a living, so I need to have equipment that is easy to set-up, lightweight to carry on planes, and effective at keeping my microphones angled and upright.
The miniature tripod from AKG fits the bill with a lightweight, collapsible model that fits snugly into the sides or corners of your luggage or carry-on bag.
It sets up in moments and the weight dispersion can take care of the heavier microphones I use (c1000s). I can't think of a better way to design a mic stand. The cost is just right too.
