ART Phantom II Pro Reviews
Great "Problem Solver"

Very happy with the ART Phantom II Pro. Based on my tests it adds only about 0.5dB of noise and provides absolutely hours of phantom power to a typical pair of small or large diaphram condensor mics with a single 9v battery. The phantom power provided from a 9v battery isn't quite completely in-spec, which is sufficient for 90% of condenser mics but may be a problem for vintage or particularly voltage-hungry mics.

It works fine and seems to have at least 12 hours battery life providing 48v phantom power though both ports. As other reviewers have said the battery just floats around and is difficult to fish out unless you hold it upside down and shake it. The adapter is a bit bulky and doesn't have any tripod or mic stand threading--would be nice it there was an easier way to mount it to a rig. I ended up using industrial-strength velcro. It does NOT come with an AC adapter and I wasn't able to find an OEM adapter for sale. But B&H does sell a third party adapter from Hosa Technology that has worked fine thus far.

question
Does this unit come with a multi-voltage AC adapter?
Asked by: Ken A.
No it Does Not , but they are easy to find on Amazon. I use mine out in the field so the Battery option Works Best for me . Hint : Buy Pro industrial Batteries and you won't be disappointed. Good Unit for the Price. Quite Operation which is what you are looking for in a power supply.

question
Does this work with Audio-Technica PRO 44? The instructions say it requires 9V to 52V DC phantompower.
Asked by: Anonymous
9V to 52V DC phantom power means the microphone will work providing any amount of voltage within that range. The ART PHANTOM II Pro provides 9V-48V and therefore is capable of providing sufficient power to the Audio-Technica Pro 44 microphone.

question
my battery door is broken. there is a little gold piece like a washer for the screw to thread into...but this piece is not attached to anything so the screw won't turn to hold the door closed. has anyone had this problem...and if so...any fixes other than tape? i have had the item less than a year...so i am a bit bummed.
Asked by: Anonymous
The gold piece is a brass nut that is pressed in a hole and held by friction. It most likely came loose by overtightening of the door screw. The solution is to disassemble the whole back panel and to carefull hammer the periphery of the hole with a ball pen hammer to make it a little smaller. Press the brass nut back into the hole and reassemble the back plate. Do not overtighten the door screw.

question
How long do the batteries last with output set to 48V? Also they state that the 7-12V AC adapter, but what's the AC adapter's minimum amperage?
Asked by: Anonymous
My experience with one Sure Lav Mic has been at least 8 hours battery life on a video shoot. Good for Field work where you are not guaranteed power. I do not know the amperage minimum for the AC adapter but I can't believe it is anything under .5A. Check the spec sheet put our by Manufacturer. There are a ton of Universal AC's adapters available
