I have 20+ years under my belt as a professional location audio mixer/recordist for film & video. I've owned a couple sets of these for the past two years, and for the price these rigs are excellent. Sound quality and reliability are right up there with lectrosonics, although the range is not as good. The mic that comes with the system is really good, but I suggest buying the sennheiser MKE-2 lavs wired for this unit (They have smaller capsules, and better wire).

I don't know why Sennheiser is still selling the C range, as the FCC won't be allowing wireless traffic there soon -- which is why I bought the A range. My other set, bought two years ago, had a Neutrik XLR connector. This set has a generic connector with a plastic (!) component. We'll see how long it lasts. I'm starting to feel sketchy about Sennheiser, but there's nothing else decent in this price range.

Great for indoor and outdoor use. Previous wireless lav mics I've used always had problems with popping, static, going out and in, etc. Have had no problems with the G2. Makes you feel like a pro on a novice's budget.

I had a VHF lav before this and had a lot of problems with noise and feedback. This mic with the tons of channel tuning options makes a perfect solution for just about any application. We now have 6 of these and love them all.

I'm a professional filmmaker and make my living off making films of all sizes from features to smaller subject pieces. Nothing hurts a piece more than inferior sound and I've never had that problem with these microphones. They have taken all of the complexity and worry out of wireless mics. Cannot say enough good about them.

Comments about Sennheiser Evolution G2 100 Series - UHF Lavalier System (A):
I'm an independent filmmaker/cinematographer, and i've been using this for quite a long time, the 100 series are comftable and reliable, but, like most things with miniplug-in systems they are quite fragille. The levalier microphone it's not the best sound but it works perfecly, with a smooth non metalic kind of sound and I think it's the best in his price range, but the plug use to brake with time (it you don't treat them carefully, but you know, when you're in a rush, things just happen).
I'll recomend this product to everyone who is shoting documentary o small films. Most probably a sound guy will tell you that he prefers another, more expensive, high class device, and he is probable rigth, but for the price, this system really delivers.

Got this just in time for a last minute shoot, with no experience in doing audio. Was able to hook it up quickly and with no problems, and the audio sounds totally professional.

I have two of these systems and they are just great.
One drawback is the lack of carrying case however. So When I was at the B&H shop I picked up a couple of these:
Tamrac
5214 Mini Micro Photo/Digital Phone Bag - for Compact Film or Digital Cameras with Accessories, MP3 Player or Cell Phone (Black)
The TX and RX fit perfectly. I would recommend you pick up one of these cases at the same time.

I am using this mic into a Beachtek adaptor to lay down a second audio track when shooting video with my Canon 5DII. The sound quality, at least up to 300' (all the further I tried) is clear and sharp. It picked up not only the person I had micked, but others they were talking with.
The quick start guide was essential as the set jup menus are very rich and full of options.
