The Samson Audio CM11B is a low profile boundary microphone with an omnidirectional polar pattern. The CM11B is designed for surface mounting and excels in reproducing audio in conferences, lectures, boardroom meetings, classrooms, interviews, etc. The omnidirectional pick up pattern provides a 360 degree pick up area, around the perimeter of the capsule.
The polar pattern results in accurate pickup of round-table discussions without degradation. A mini XLR output connector is located on the rear and a 30-foot mini XLR to standard XLR output cable is supplied. The CM11B is powered with a 9 to 52V phantom power source. The heavy duty construction features a die-cast reinforced grille to protect against damage due to shock.

Comments about Samson CM11B Omnidirectional Boundary Microphone:
We are using the product as a drama mic. It is in a large area but confined to a table that the actors are around.
Pics op most of the sound clearly
Cons. As most boundary mics it is tough to control the sound.
Comments about Samson CM11B Omnidirectional Boundary Microphone:
I already own a Sennheiser e912 cardioid boundary mic,and bought the Samson CM11B mic because of it's omnidirectional pattern.I was surprised to find that the Samson mic sounds a little quieter than the Sennheiser, which I suspect is the result of high frequency roll off. It's a great mic to record small groups of people, or a lecturer if you plant the mic on the podium.I was not crazy about the XLR cable that comes with the mic( too flimsy ), so I had TrewAudio make me a custom 10 ft TA3F ( mini-XLR ) to Standard XLR star-quad cable, which fits it like a glove.Great sound, very quiet, but replace the cable.
Expertise: 13 years multimedia development
Problems Encountered: None, but the cable Samson supplies is like bad spaghetti.
Previous Equivalent Item Owned: Sennheiser e912 mic, Audio Technica 4053a mic, Rode NTG-2 mic
Items I Recommend: Custom star quad mini-xlr to standard xlr cable.
