Excellent product. Very well made
Straps appear to be made out of seatbelt material. Easy to setup and was up and running in 30 minutes. Does take some time to get used to but most of that time could be avoided if you have spent some time with the glidecam on its own.

At first, I purchased the Glidecam 2000 pro for my dslr. While it improved my shots it could not compare to the sturdiness that the smooth shooter has provided.

I shot a music video in Soweto, South Africa, yesterday and did a piece walking along a rural road within the township and the shooter handled it all.

It makes the experience of filming more enjoyable for me as it allows me to focus more on directing and aesthetics and not worry constantly about the steadiness of the shot.

I do however wish that the product came with an additional accessory; a carry case. It can be problematic on location.

very simple to use, very quality, smooth and stable on the same time.
I bought the kit so it is very comfortable and easy to use.

It take a time to balance the camera but when you over it and try few shoot to get use to it it is great, yes the price is high but im not sorry to have it :)

I have been shooting the glidecam hd-2000 for a year and decided to bite the bullet and get the smooth shooter. I am glad I did

The product is really well made and seems sturdy and that it will last. It was really easy to adjust as I had to remove one of the springs to achieve optimal balance.

After I balanced my hd-2000 and got the weight right for the smooth shooter...it was pretty easy to get this thing to do what it says it will do. Just like the sled...practice makes perfect...and your gonna feel it in your back for sure.

Dont expect the smooth shooter to be the x-10...but for more basic tracking shots it does the job. Now I just gotta find some type of case or something to put it all in. Very Pleased!

The Glidecam is nice alternative to SteadiCam. It does have some limitations though. The vest is comfortable, especially for a big guy like me. The chest and waist belts are a little difficult to grasp and fasten, you almost need an extra set of hands on set. I'd like to see a little beefier support arm.

Extremely smooth camera tracking and motion capability. I use this for music videos, virtual home tours, wedding cinematography and more. It definitely has a learning curve. You can throw it on and get good results but it takes practice to make it work for longer shots. My only gripe is the lower support arm is pretty restrictive. I would recommend the X-10 system for the serious professional.

This things makes you sweat. I've read many online reviews on the Smooth Shooter before purchase. Very few mention how hot the harness is! When I took it off the sweat stains looked like a bra. Padded nylon, velcro, plastic and steel do not make for a breathable vest. Suggest wearing a light air wisk shirt under this beast. I'm 5' 10" large frame and it fits me well.

Tricky for me to maneuver through tight doorways. Works well with my Canon XHA1 on the HD4000 sled.

It does take allot of practice to master. Good for walking pace. Difficult to get steady shot at a fast pace. Maybe with practice. Though many feel a double braced arm is the only way to get a good shot at running pace.

Best entry level quality that I was able to find in such a device. Steadicam, maybe someday. Difficult to find a duffel/case to fit. Unless you have around $500 for a Pelican case.

This is a great product, I have used it at a small concert at a park and the video was rock solid on stairs, uneven grass and walking interviews after concert. Got more compliments and additional job offers.

I have only used this product a few times, but I like it. Its construction is solid and I can see how it will work beautifully with some experience on my part.

Although it sure takes a lot of stress from hand holding the steadycam unit itself, it does still place a lot of stress on the back. After using it for a few hours my back is exhausted. I mention this without knowing if it is something I am doing wrong (i.e. the way I'm standing or holding t) and I think the skimpy instructions are at fault for this. I feel that a unit at this price should come with a nice owner's manual and some real specific instructions, some tips, and even a training DVD perhaps.

Good solid construction. Easy to use. Very comfortable vest. I used this for hours and not had a back pain at all. Good for tight locations too.
Only problem is you can not go low or high. Only one arm moves up and down which restricts the amount of vertical movement. But it is much cheaper then the x-10.

I haved used the glidecam 2000 for 4 years now and finally got the Smooth Shooter System!
Excellent system, but it takes alot of time and practice to learn how to use it.
Takes off the stress on your wrist and arm.(so you can shoot longer)
Only Cons:Limtes you how high or low you can shoot,(because of the stabiliztion arm)in which when I shoot with the glidecam 2000 alone,I can take the camera up high or really low.
Other than that,this system is a must have!

Great product. Easy to use with stunning results.Anyone with some sort of operating ability can master this within a few hours but as with anything the more you use it the better the results.
I was surprised by the superb build quality. It looks/feels and works like it is more expensive than it is.
Glidecam are a very good company to deal with also. They have responded quickly to my contact and great back up on any warranty situation.
X-10 arm is now on my shopping list.
If you want stunning smooth shots using suitable cameras at a great price this is it.
I have used it running at speed over rough terrain, riding on quad bikes at speed along beaches, running with Maori warriors thru NZ bush fighting english soldiers amid explosions, chasing skateboarders thru city streets with stunt cars trying to run us down .......
I doubt you will be dissappointed.
