This is a great bag for travelling with all your photo and computer equipment. I have a Toshiba X205 series laptop which is much thicker than a standard laptop with a 17" screen. It is a tight fit but I can get it in there and zip it up. I can fit my Nikon D80 and 2 lenses as well as all the chargers and cables for both the camera and the laptop. The bag is a little too large for outdoor treking but it is perfect for a carryon bag for flying. When I go for a hike I move all my camera gear over to my Sligshot 200AW.

This is a large, well-thought-out bag that carries my D200, 80-400, 18-200, 12-24, 105 Micro, SB600 with snoot & diffuser, Rollei TLR & LunaPro, 24" Gitzo, and provisions for several days. It fits my 6'2", 220lb. 74yr old body comfortably and that's good because I need my bulk to counterbalance this thing. It is really too big to use as anything but a piece of luggage, and therefor needs a way to stow the harness and a side handle to lift it with. Consider it a "base camp" and use a smaller bag with side-entry like the LowePro Fastpack or Slingshot models for day hikes.

Comments about Lowepro CompuTrekker Plus AW Backpack - for Photo Gear and 17" Laptop Computer:
This bag holds everything I have for it and still has room for more. I am impressed by how much it holds: 2 flashes, 2 dslr bodies, 4 lens, camcorder, radio flash triggers, and more. My only concern is how well it will fit as a carry own when flying. Though the manufacturer site says it is carrying on approved.

Comments about Lowepro CompuTrekker Plus AW Backpack - for Photo Gear and 17" Laptop Computer:
I bought this to make sure my equipment is safe on planes and trips. I had a Mini Trekker Classic for years that I replaced. It was old and way too small for all my stuff. Compared with it, this one is big, bulky and heavy, but hey, so is my equipment! The inside is spacious and can be adjusted to fit any needs I can imagine. It has a side opening to fit a notebook comfortably in the back.
Straps can be adjusted, hip part is thickly padded for a comfortable fit. I would not recommend to carry it fully loaded all day, at least I could not. But it serves its purpose to protect on planes and the like, which was my main concern.

Comments about Lowepro CompuTrekker Plus AW Backpack - for Photo Gear and 17" Laptop Computer:
The bag holds a lot of gear, is well padded, and stays dry. However, the zippers are the achilles heel. I've blown out the main compartment zippers on two of these bags in less than 1 year, and am done with this product. I missed a lap and a half of racing and the photos I would have taken during a UCI bike race yesterday becasue I was screwing with the blown out zipper- trying to get to my lenses!
Bottom line, great for a hobbiest, but unreliable for a pro relying on his gear to work every day.

I use the product to carry my cameras, lens, flash, laptop and all the goodies associated with that equipment on vacations.
The pack is also the home for the camera gear when it isn't in use.
As others have said, the only thing wrong with this bag is that you can put too much into it.
The outter compartment could use tighter pockets. Stuff flew everywhere out of them on my recent trip. Other than that, it's great!

This bag is very well made. There is plenty of room to carry all my gear. Two camera Bodies, 7 lenses, light meter, hard drive, laptop computer and flashes. (and there is room for more too) I can even secure my tripod to the bag as well. The bag includes a rain jacket for protection against the elements.

I'm a wildlife photographer, lugging cameras and big lenses through the woods and into the mountains, often after long plane rides. This bag is really sturdy, holds everything I need, and can be carried onto planes. It's heavy, but that's the price you pay for the ruggedness.

Use this bag to carry my 5D and five lenses, plus cleaning gear, blower, M80 storage unit, flash, laptop, cables, etc. This bag is very comfortable either over one shoulder or both. Capacity is massive.
Bag is borderline for size for carry-on with airlines but if they ask to weigh it you have no hope. Beware.

Comments about Lowepro CompuTrekker Plus AW Backpack - for Photo Gear and 17" Laptop Computer:
I bought this bag so that I could fit all my photo gear (which really isn't too much) as well as my laptop. I was tired of carrying two separate bags when I traveled: a backpack for my computer, and another for my camera.
In my bag I'm able to fit my Nikon D80, a flash, an 18-135mm lens, a 200-400mm lens, and my camera charger. They're all very well protected and I still have a ton of space left.
The cover included is very handy, especially since it's been raining in New York for the past three weeks.
The only downside to the bag is that it's pretty big and it's kind of a pain to lug around if you're going out on a nice little day-trip somewhere.
All around though, the bag is great, spacious, and protects all my photo gear very well. The fact that you can attach a tripod to the back also is very handy.

I use this bag to hold all of my photographic equiptment, and keep everything together in one bag at home. I dont think I will be usuing this in the field. I have my fastpack 250 for that, I prefer to pack light. Great bag, fits my 2 bodies with lenses attached to both of them. 70-200 2.8 IS, 24-70 2.8, 16-35 2.8, my 2x teleconverter, 580 flash, chargers, cables, flash, 17 Laptop and plenty of room for more. Another high quality bag from Lowepro

I got this packpack so I didn't have to carry around two or three others. So far in the main compartment I've got a D90, D60, 70-200 F2.8 + hood, 18-55, 55-200 + hood, 50 F1.4, SB-600, 17" HP pavillion and have room for a couple other lenses and/or flash or camera. It has another compartment to hold a notebook, pens, memory cards, etc. Also can hold tripod. Plus lowepro has additional cases you can add to attach to the outside. Can become heavy, but straps are sturdy and comfortable. May not be for long hikes, unless you don't load it down.

This bag holds all of my gear including a Nikon d300, 18-200mm, 11-16 mm, and a Signma 150-500mm, plus the usual assortment of batteries, chargers, filters, point and shoot camera, etc. The laptop compartment also holds my HP 17" snuggly. Excellent padding throughout, although heavy when fully loaded, the shoulder straps are comfortable. I use it to keep everything in one place when traveling and storing my gear at home. I wish it had at least a couple outside pockets to store a cellphone, and sunglasses without having to open the main compartment. They do include a couple of separate zippered storage containers which are helpful to keep you organized.

I use this bag if I decide to bring most of my equipment. I have put my: 40d, 50d w/ bat grip, 70-200mm, 16-35mm, 24-70mm, 50mm, 100mm, gary fong lightsphere kit, camcorder, 4 pocket wizards, (2) 580 flashes, 3 battery chargers, spare batteries, filters, memory cards, cables, a lens cleaning kit, & 15" mac book pro. At this load the bag is pretty much at its MAX capacity. Hopefully this will give you an idea of the space inside. If your planning to get this as an everyday bag look for something else. I think it will be just too big to walk around with. I have had no problems with the zippers, and they are weather sealed. comes with rain cover, and tripod slot. As comfortness it is padded on the back. If you were to check this in when traveling I would get a hard case pelican to put this bag in.

Comments about Lowepro CompuTrekker Plus AW Backpack - for Photo Gear and 17" Laptop Computer:
Good pack, right size for my use. comfortable to carry, even fully packed for several miles.
The weather resistant zipper for the laptop is nice.
The zipper for the main compartment is not as strong as I would like. It occasionaly sticks and skips teeth around the corners, especially when the pack is fully loaded. The zipper is self healing and backtracking and careful rezipping fixes the issue. The zipper is recessed and is somewhat cumbersome to get to. The weather flaps over the zipper fold under and can get in the way. I have had these same issues with other LowePro bags. Even with this minor issue I think it is one of the best packs available for my uses.
The bungie cords for attaching a tripod are weak. They may be adequate for a small carbon fiber with a light head. I have to reinforce them with my heavier aluminium and large head.
The suspension is much better than my old pack. It has better padding and is more adjustable. Hiking a couple of miles this weekend on icy snowy trails and the pack felt nice and snug.
It is a nice pack.

I love Lowepro bags . . . this is my third one, all used for different purposes. This one holds EVERYTHING . . . almost too much! It allows me to bring along everything that I normally bring in my other Lowepro backpack PLUS the Macbook Pro that I use. It allows me to keep only 1 "personal item" when I carry on the plane, replacing my computer bag AND my Lowepro backpack. Now, I know what it feels like to be a Sherpa!

Having just purchased this bag I feel that I cannot objectivly rate it as of yet. I bought this bag for it's roominess, carry on compliance, and water resistance. I can say it meets my roominess requirement as this bag does hold all of my bamera gear (1 canon 40d, 1 canon 35mm Rebel, three "L" series lenses on of them a 70-200mm, and a lot of other things). This bag will be traveling with me to Patagonia, CL in Feb 09 where the other atributes of this bag will be tested.
The bungee system supplied as part of the tripod carrying system are weak. I will be suplementing with other straps.

Comments about Lowepro CompuTrekker Plus AW Backpack - for Photo Gear and 17" Laptop Computer:
I consider myself a "Pro/Am" but I travel often and after too many small planes where my Pelicans wouldn’t fit I decided to take the leap and get a soft bag and I am actually impressed with this. It’s very well made and has plenty of room for my video and SLR's as well as lens’s and all the misc items and of course my laptop.
So far the only complaint I have is the zipper has a overhang to keep it clean/dry and on the first day I got the zipper caught which took longer than expected to remove but that so far has happen only once.
I would like to see more room on the smaller pockets and more flaps or zippers on the pockets for smaller items, as well as better zippers (the handle’s seems small) and offered in different colors other than black, but I give this a solid 4.75 out of 5 and look forward to using this more often.
